Strange old men who seem to know a lot have always been in Zelda games, ever since the first screen in the first game. I don't think they are related, they are just a trademark of the older games.

Nah I don't think there is a relation between them. If the old man in OOT was the ancestor of the old man in LTTP, I think he would have gave you an item or something. Just a coincendence is all that is.

Yeah just because they both happen to be old men doesnt mean that they are automatically related that'd be like going into a school and pairing people up and saying theyre related just because they resemble each other

That old man in OOT does strike a resemblance to the old man in ALttP. They could either be related, or it is the same guy
