Zelda MMORPG

I was googling for a Zelda MMORPG, and I found this. It looks pretty promising (I haven't played it yet, cause I'm waiting for the next generation.) It doesn't have a lot of people (like runescape, or WoW, or anything else) so you can get to know everyone, and you can run around Hyrule! They have dungeons, they make places cooler for holidays, and there working on a second! I think everyone here should give it a shot.

But ever heard of Zelda Online? It eventually turned in Graal, my favorite game, due to lawsuit.

I played that a good 7 years back when it was at its peak (before kingdoms and fail3d came out)
The game is ok but the content isn't that great since the best parts are player worlds. And in most playerworlds the only reference to zelda is usually the tileset only.

A Zelda MMORPG doesn't sound too good at all, in my opinion. If anything it seems far from the Zelda series.

And it wouldn't work- all players can't be Link, and quests wouldn't make sense since it's not like after you kill Ganon, it would be proper to have him spawn again for another.

A Zelda MMORPG doesn't sound to good, i cringe at even thinking about one, i highly doubt it would work, as I haven't went onto that site, the only way it would...............yeah........don't have anything there.

I downloaded it but the servers are down. hope it comes up soon.

I've thought about this for a while, and I wont point i started laying out a couple of pages of mechanics.

Obviously no one would play as link or any major characters, that would be silly. The character selection would go something like this.

Hylian - All around character. ok magic , good at range and melee
Shekiah - ninja class ( would be a special option for hylians after a high level )
Goron - Warrior class, good at physical skills, cant use magic
Zora - good at ranged attacks / magic enhanced water / ice
Deku - phsyically weak, but good at all kinds of magic
Rito - goot at melee attacks, magic enhanced with fire

the game would take place during some kind of "great war" where all the tribes have united to fight against the armies of gannon or something like that, and you would play as a mercenary / warrior for your tribe, your starting point would be the homeland of your people (zoras start in domain, etc)

I think it would be pretty cool, i think miyamoto could do it if he wanted to, but I dont think hes interested at all in that sort of game so it will probably never happen.

Well how would the game work?, everyone can't be Link and everyone is going to want to be the hero. I don't see how they would be able to pull it off. The only thing I could think of is everyone being a regular custom made character from Hyrule or Kakiriko Village and run around killing Flower Monsters to level up.

I was correcting my original post by answering why I thought so because the Mod asked, I wasn't replying to you.

I don't know how on earth people assume there would be 60000 Links running about. In MMO's characters from any of its main series, ala final fantasy can not be made in appearance, and in name, most of the names and many verities are not allowed by the game mechanics. A lot of people just want to explore with there own avatar, as Link isn't, (He's a hybrid avatar/character that's left him in a neitherspace limbo.)

At least people haven't claimed this time round "I don't want Zelda warcraft!" like its the ultimate alpha and Omega in MMO, it isn't, It is merely well known, there are far many better MMO's and few games have the sheer ability to work in MMO then zeldaverese by the nature of its very design, overworld order, dungeons, etc.

A Zelda MMO, fan-made or official, would obviously not let you play with Link - Isn't that the whole point of an MMO(RPG)? That you are not the Hero, but just a low-life that tries to get stronger/better to become one of the best?

And yes, MMOs that exist today do spawn the last boss again so that everybody has a chance to beat him Actually, it works that way in the standard games as well. You can always go back and visit the last boss!!

Sorry, I had to point this out, the rito couldn't be there because they evolved from the zora, the gerudo's would be characters instead.

oh yeah, forgot that, haven't played wind waker in a long time, rusty on the lore. Gerudos are all evil though arent they? and there are no men (except for gannondorf ) so that would kind of limit character creation.

im thinking now...it makes no sense that the zora are gone in WW, the whole world is WATER. wouldnt they thrive?

yes, i would buy it, and ditch the Xbox! all my friends that play Xbox with me are Zelda fans anyway and they'd do the same thing! When the next gen of HO comes out, it seems like a promising, small, active community. I say if maybe 10 of us, who actually think this is a good idea could play, we could start a little group/guild. They said that they may be adding a clan/guild system to it!
