Terrible? Sorry, but I have to disagree. It's a lot of work to make dubstep songs like that. Kudos to the creator. And I don't think there's anything wrong with dubstep, it just kinda reminds me of an old person talking to a younger kid and being like "turn that ridiculous music off".

But I really happen to like Zeldastep.

Not sure where to drop this, so... yeah. haha.

Zelda Wii U 2014 (Rumor from Wii U Daily)

I'm pretty hyped for this if it is confirmed soon. Seems legitimate though looking at the source's track record.

Re: General Zelda General Discussion

^ It's pretty much fake news by now.

All that I know is that we have entered "rumour season" when it comes to the next Zelda game.

Arrow

It was pretty obvious that was fake, but that doesn't mean every single thing about it has to be.

... Though a 2014 release for Wii U Zelda seems a little fast.

I don't think we should be thinking about that too much already. Skyward Sword hasn't even been out for a year, most people are still "high" from that, and quite rightfully so. Still great fun and new discoveries and dialogue after the 5th playthrough

Re: General Zelda General Discussion

^ That is true, but at least the graphics will look good. I really hope they do an art style like they did in the Wii U preview thing, that would be awesome. Or at least something that is like a mix of TP and SS art style~

As for SS, I think that it wasn't a big enough Zelda game to keep people occupied until the next game- that's why all these rumors are floating about.

I always frown to uncomfortable levels when people say SS "wasn't that long". It's the longest of all the games (I guess excluding the tedium of getting a complete Figurine collection in TWW).

I have 140 hours on my main file, and added another 100 hours on my first Hero Mode file. Of course I talked to everyone after every distinct event to get new dialogue out of them, I actually enjoyed listening to all the in-depth stuff Fi had to say, and I acquired 99 of each Treasure and Bug (since I'm a perfectionist, and also since they carry over into your Hero Mode file, making that 100 times easier since you have basically infinite rupees, can upgrade all the items & potions as soon as you want).

I also completely filled the Item Check with 10 shields (each version), 13 or 14 Large Quivers, Bomb Bags and Seed Satchels, etc.

And because of the Thunder Dragon's Silent Realm & Bosh Rush challenges, there's plenty of time to spend on getting good times there, too, and getting the ultimate prize by beating all bosses in one go.

Because of all of this it's the only Zelda game I managed to get that many hours on just one file (not even counting replayability).

So beautiful.
I think they should compose for a future Zelda game!!
Has anybody ever heard of them before?
I listen to every single song they did, so awesome.

My favorites are Archangel and Norwegian Pirate.

Not saying by all means that it's a bad game, it's just not on my favorites. And I didn't say it wasn't long enough, I meant to say that the world itself wasn't big enough. There weren't very many places to explore, besides the floating islands. It seems as if that the game was just repeating itself once you got through half of it, you had to go back to the same provinces you were before. There are a quite a few things I enjoyed about SS (the relationship they established between Zelda and Link, the character interaction, the option to reply differently, the controls, etc) but it would have been a way better game if the map was bigger. I guess I just got bored of the same locations over and over again, and Fi doesn't help with her technical speeches 'bout everything

Speaking of Hero Mode, I heard somewhere that Nintendo had actually messed up and made the game half the size of the amount it was supposed to be, so they had to put something else in it, so they decided to go with Hero Mode again~ I think it was much more of a challenge (especially having to make sure you have potions every time you leave Skyloft)~

That is true though. I only felt like Lanayru Desert was vast enough. Lanayru Mines, the actual desert (with some subsections leading to the gorge area, with the Temple of Time in the back), then of course the Lanayru Mining Facility, and I felt like it was the region that made you explore the most (also for when you returned). The Lanayru harbor & Sand Sea was quite vast, with Skipper's Retreat, the Shipyard, the Pirate's Hideout, and the Sandship. And still a big gorge & cave-complex for when you returned to meet the Thunder Dragon. The Lanayru Caves provided a neat center area to access the other areas from, too.

Faron Woods & Eldin Volcano weren't that big. Though I did like how it was one big forest, not just a bunch of separate sections that didn't meet. Elding Volcano was fun to climb (and descend ), but there wasn't much more to it to reach the Fire Sanctuary. They did add the "protect the robot" bit, and the Eldin Eruption Event to force you to take specific paths, with more enemy opposition.

Fi was very... calculated, yes, but I liked how she mostly left you alone. Navi, KoRL & Midna would remind you of your objective more often. With Fi SHE asked YOU if you needed anything. You had to select 'Objective', 'Hint' or 'Summary' yourself if you really felt stuck. Otherwise she didn't bother you too much with things you probably already knew. Only at first with a couple of "You should dowse" remarks did she overdo it.

I didn't know that! But would Hero Mode take up that much space anyway? It's mostly just the damage ratio X2 for everything, and complete absence of hearts unless a Heart Medal is equipped. Some dialogue is different here and there, and it saved your treasures, bugs, and game stats (like battle performance) from your original file.

It's definitely my favorite challenge - I don't think I'll be playing the "normal" version many more times. It's more rewarding when you manage to survive everything, and you actually need to use your shield (and especially potions). Which fortunately you can upgrade as much as necessary because you still had bugs (& treasures) from your original file. So rupees and upgrades are never a problem

Re: General Zelda General Discussion

^ All I know is that the second quest in the original Legend of Zelda resulted from an oversight in the programming similar to what you described, so to me it sounds like chances are your sources mistook it for another game. It's the first time I hear it happened with SS hero mode as well.

Re: General Zelda General Discussion

I just saw this vid on youtube, and it reminds me of the mini-boss battle with Dead Hand in OoT.

edit: Oh and random though (very random), I was replaying LA today and I was at the part when I revived the flying rooster. I went to Koholint Prairie (where all of those unlimited zombie creatures), and all I did was throw my boomerang, picked up the rooster, and I just mowed down all zombies that appeared on the screen. It was pretty fun for a few minutes: Unlimited zombies vs Unlimited boomerang attack (plus I can't get hit by them).

Oh and I learned a fast way to get money (that doesn't involve mowing down grass/bushes. That will take forever). What if I told you, you can earn 10 rupees within the time span of about 15 seconds? It's simple
Step 1: Go to the fishing guy and pay up to play his game (10 rupees)
Step 2: (The tricky part) You should know that the big fish are worth 20 rupees. Well there is a way to get the big one on the lower left hand corner without having to get one of the three little runts up top. Ok, let's call the three runts "Top, Middle, and Bottom". You can ignore "Top and Bottom" because they will do nothing. All you have to focus on is "Middle". This has to do with some good timing. When Middle Runt is swimming towards the left, cast out your line. By the time the line goes into the water, all the runts will be away from the lure/ignore it. Don't press any buttons, just watch the lure fall to the bottom.
Step 3: Have the big fish grab it, rapidly press A + B and reel him in!
Step 4: When the fisherman pays up the 20 rupees decline his offer to play again (I'll explain why later).
Step 5: Repeat steps 1-4 until you have acquired the amount of money you want. So something like buying the Bow will take you about 24 minutes maximum if you don't have money already.

The reason you should decline the offer to play again is because if you're going to do the same thing as Step 2 but try to slooowly reel in your lure for the second big fish (the one that has the heart piece the first time you get it) it will take too long. By the time you shimmy your lure all the way to the right side of the screen, you could have caught like 3-4 big fish by just focusing on that one fish over and over again.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!

I just dropped my Figma Link and a leg broke off at the knee. -_-

Argh! I hate myself for being so stupid. I really hope I can fix it. Maybe drilling a hole in both parts of the leg and then pinning them together with some glue????

I just beat Spirit Tracks!!!
When it asked me to save after the first stage of the boss, I didn't.... I'm afraid I'll get stuck there and can't go back to the normal world...
I'll copy my file and try later.

Now I've got a question for you all: why does no one take a stab at a Zelda fanmade whose gameplay mechanics are not like usual Zelda? I for one think it'd be pretty cool if someone attempted to break the mold (i.e. parties).
