I was just browsing the wiki when I went to a page about April Fools Jokes involving Zelda. The first one up there? Something that I JUST NOW learned was fake...

It was about how EGM posted a thing saying that if you preordered Twilight Princess, you would get a new Wind Waker with Twilight Princess graphics. They had a picture (made with Photoshop) and everything to back it up too!

As I've been back on the site lately, I've sometimes wondered what happened to it. Nobody ever talked about it, but people rarely talk about Master Quest in the places I frequent either. So I figured it was rare and not a big deal to most folks.

...I just can't believe I'm JUST NOW figuring it out! AHHHHHH!!!

The only one that I have ever seen was the fake movie trailer.
I didn't feel like a dummy as I was shown it by a friend who said look at this cool fake trailer.
I wished it was real though. They did a good job considering it was fake.

Do you have any links to these other april fools jokes?
I wouldn't mind seeing them but have never heard of them.

I actually never saw that April Fools thing until you mentioned it and I looked it up...Nice rendered fake image if you ask me of TP graphic WW if you ask me.

Yeah, lol. I think it's the fact that so many fans would've liked it that made it somewhat believable.

Yeah, I've seen the movie trailer too, but it wasn't on April Fools I don't think, so I knew it was fake. It did look REALLY good. Nintendo should learn from it! That would be an awesome movie! Or even a trilogy!

I really liked the Oracle of Hours thing. Anyone else seen the Metroid Dread map that the same guy made?

I think it's funny that it seems like they have no clue that the "Tingle Returns" screenshot is from Brawl.

I think the all the screen shot ones look pretty fake.
The only one that I think could be mistaken for the real deal is the movie trailer. Somebody went to alot of trouble making that.

I've only fallen for one Zelda April fools joke...It was like 2004 and there was a site that talked about Wind Waker 2. We all knew the sequel existed (though it didn't) and waited for info on it.

So anyways I read that the story revolved around Link saving the Great Sea by finding giant magical umbrellas to put on all the islands so that they didn't flood over like Hyrule did. I made a thread about it...but I lost the source. So everyone interested went hunting for the site and when we finally found it there was an April fools sign on the bottom. xD It was a really old site too...so I had no way of knowing it was April first when the person wrote it. Haha.

So yeah...I never fell for futuristic Zelda, the Zelda movie OR Project Deluge because of that one April Fools joke.

Also, Midna-fan, thanks for the link. But, unless I've been duped again, they are wrong about one thing: There is ONE game ending bug in Twilight Princess, is there not?

I haven't experienced it (partly because I read about it and went out of my way to avoid it) but it's when you're on the way to the last Twilight Zone I think. When you cross the bridge in Hyrule field right outside Kakariko and then the bridge is taken away. I'm told, that if you save and quit there, before going to the next area, when you reload, the bridge won't be there, but you'll be on the wrong side, unable to continue your quest. Is that not accurate?

Oh, and Melpomene, I agree that the trailer looked pretty realistic. It shows Nintendo that it could be a REALLY good idea.

Now that I think about it, I do remember seeing that fake pic and thinking it looked a little bit off. I guess I never made the connection though.

I remember my brother showing me that a long time ago, and then I forgot about it somehow, and then I found it again recently, and it's like wow...

I'm not sure, man, I haven't tried it, myself. I suppose it's possible.

Well it makes SENSE. You generally start back at the beginning of the area you were in (beginning as in where you entered). So unless they changed that temporarily, you would start back at the other end of Hyrule Field. Not good.

This isn't TOTALLY on topic, but I thought this April fools joke was HILARIOUS

Today Nintendo surprised us all again by announcing the long-awaited Zelda for the Nintendo Wii. "Letters from the Past" is the next installment of the Zelda series and will integrate with Spirit Tracks. According to Nintendo, the only way to save Hyrule is to deliver top secret letters into the future so that future citizens can use this information within to protect themselves. 'Past Link' will send letters into the future for 'future Link' to deliver. This explains the train in Spirit Tracks. Without it, there would not be enough time to deliver the letters. This is why past Link must depend on future Link. Nintendo hinted today that there may be a little romance involved as well. Perhaps Link is going to deliver a love letter? More details to come."

It essentially takes that GOD AWEFUL Sandra Bulit movie THE LAKEHOUSE, and turns it into a zelda game. (DEAR GOD WAS THAT MOVIE BAD seriously it made NO SENSE)

ON TOPIC: And when i first saw the project dulge interview i became a little excited, but i realized at the end that it was fake when they were talking about E3 seeing as E3 had already happened.
