Toon Link is over used

Half the things you just said are irrelevant. Yeah, I kinda didn't say anything to "oust you for being a Zelda fan", I was stating the fact that you were telling me we were all people who just want to escape reality and our problems by playing video games, while you were a gamer as well, and that seemed kinda arrogant. And I never asked for realism in anything. I actually didn't like how realistic TP was. I don't really care, but I still didn't like it all that much. I just don't like that they've taken Zelda and cemented it into a little cartoon. Oh, and you being a musician is useless info. I don't care if you're a celebrity, the president, or god himself, your still on the ZELDA forums. So your musical talent is of little importance here, that's why they have OC Remix, isn't it?

On topic: I don't really mind the current toon Link but I would like to see a new, refreshed design of him. Like mentioned before, Mario hasn't changed drastically during all these years but there have always been some small changes and detail that are noticeable enough.

Just compare Mario from Mario 64 to the Galaxy Mario. Do the same with toon Link, doesn't need to be more then that.

By the way, I don't agree with the idea of Toon Link on DS, and realistic Link on consoles simple because Toon Link looks like garbage on the DS. The Wind Waker is a pretty game, and with its art style, it will always look good. That's because of the round edges used for the style. The DS isn't powerful enough, and everything is very blocky, and that contradicts the toon style. It's terrible.

Twilight Princess looks good, but the style seems a bit too generic compared to Ocarina of Time or Majora's Mask. It lacks charm.

Personally, I'd like for Nintendo to go for a midway point. I would love to see something like this with today's technology:

It's a fantastic style that is rather cartoony, but the dramatic lighting and shading gives it an edgier look. This style could pretty much fit any type of Zelda game.

I totally agree with you Moe Joe. I really want to see beautiful Cel-shading on the Wii, I really can't stand some of ST's graphics... Wind Waker was a beautiful looking game and I wouldn't mind more of that Toon Link. Other wise I think Toon Link is used up.

Looks like they were gonna make Toon Link a teenager or an young adult. I wouldn't mind how that would work out. He looks like just a little bit how he was designed for the 80s cartoon.

Classic cartoonly style. Children usually have large heads and small bodies.

I wanted Cel-Link on another console, too. He looked a lot better with the graphics from TWW

I rather liked it. TP was supposed to be realistic. It would look bad with cartoony graphics like MM or OoT... Especially the Link in TP o.o;;;

I don't have a problem with Toon Link being the official Link on handhelds. It's much better that way.

I'm going to have an issue if they make him in another home console Zelda. Home console Zeldas, please keep this real.

I agree that they should stop using toon link in the latest zelda games. It is really starting to get old, I want to see more of OoT link but updated.

I do think he has seen to much of the spotlight recently, but I think he should stay
(mainly because he's in ST)

i like toon link personally and for me the most amazing ending to a Zelda game was ST which is toon link. but i would also like to see a more mature art style for the console games for the DS toon link is perfect in my opinion and i would also like to see an art style that was used for MM/OoT like mojo joe joe, because i love that art style its cartoony but not cartoony if you know what i mean but other than that i think toon link should stay with the hand held system thing it just seems right on the DS.

I personally don't care. I get butterflies of joy in my tummy when I look at Twilight Princess AND Wind Waker's graphics.

I like Toon more than 'regular' Link so I don't think Nintendo should stop using him. Maybe because I loved TWW, TMC, and ST so much.

I also really like that early concept art. A bit of change to Toon's design would be neat and a sort of 'breath of fresh air'.

I too preferred the sketchy concept art of tWW compared to the sleek cartoon concept art of ST and PH.

^Indeed the artwork for WW was more stylised and fit far better with WW's theme. I made it look much more ancient.

The sleek designs of ST and PH are cool, but they keep getting more modern and modern. Still pretty cool I might add.
