Re: Zelda Fan no more!

If Zelda Wii uses too much Wii Motion Plus. I want as much Wii Motion Plus in ZWii as TP has Sumo wrestling. That way I wouldn't feel like it is too much of a gimmick.

After the "better-than-sex-Majora's-Mask" and then getting let down by the games which followed I stopped being a fan.

That as well expect I didn't find Wind Waker to be a let down because I'm not an immature brat who thinks graphics are everything. Twilight Princess is what made me hate the series.

Re: Zelda Fan no more!

Really? I quite liked all of the 3D Zeldas. Ocarina is probably my least favorite, mainly because of the pre-rendered backdrops that I despised. I also didn't really like the 3 Day cycle of Majora's Mask. I loved The Wind Waker because it had as much story and sidequests, but not the 3 Day cycle. I really don't see why people don't like Twilight Princess. I liked it mainly because of its art style and story. I was dissappointed that all of the sidequests were gone in Twilight Princess, but other parts of the game made up for it.

Re: Zelda Fan no more!

What makes me angry about Twilight Princess is that the graphics were excellent, it had some great characters and a big world... but it all stopped there. The game had all this excellent potential and you can tell Nintendo rushed its last year of development. They could have added so much more to the game world, they could have made the NPCs have real dialogue, they could have added less boring side quests, they could have made the dungeons harder, they could have really given some life to the game.

But they didn't, and the game has this rushed, unfinished feel to it.

I didn't like Wind Waker because the majority of your game play was traveling on boring blue water. I prefer being on foot. Nintendo seems to be focusing ONLY on the younger audiences these days, and it's driving me nuts. They're not doing this in just Zelda, but every game that comes out for their systems (DSi, Wii). In doing so, they may be gaining a young audience, but they're losing their older ones.

The end of button attacks. I don't want mirrored games or motion based sword swinging.

Re: Zelda Fan no more!

I totally agree with kreebby. She's right on the money.
They need to stop making Finding Nemo-status games, and remember the more mature players.
Wii sucks in my opinion because I have yet to play one game I've enjoyed on it.

And yeah, TP was too easy, and could have been better. And WW is just.. ugh.. I never liked it.
And yes, a lot of it had to do with how retarded it looked.

But I'm hoping for the best for the next. Maybe they will make a recovery.

In my opinion, TWW was one of the darkest Zeldas. I don't really care about all of the water. I loved the possible exploration and the sidquests. If I was ever a game designer, I'd love to make a game about a pirate, with lots of brightness and water.

Re: Zelda Fan no more!

I'll still have the old games, so I really dunno.

I'll stop playing new games though if: (Warning these are MY opinions, so just suck it if you have a problem with them)

Cell-shaded Link on console games (Ew)
More casual/kid friendly
If that girl is the Master Sword

And btw to the person who has yet to enjoy a Wii game:

Go play Metroid Prime Trilogy. And beat it.

I laughed at the Master Sword bit because I partially agree--that would just be stupid. I wouldn't quit the games over it though.

But the kid friendly thing I definitely agree with. If they tone down Zelda to the point where it's five-year-old level, I'll probably quit playing forever. Nintendo better remember who its fanbase is. They have eight billion other games out there for little kids, leave Zelda alone.

We've got two cel-shaded games with one upcoming and another two and a half copying the art style in 2d. I'm kind of doubting you feel very strongly about that.

Re: Zelda Fan no more!

Once again "Everyone's Game" just means Ninty makes more money by selling to little children and grandparents.
Last year my mom spent $80 bucks on WiiFit for herself and she never used it, I guess as long as Nintendo gets their money we mean nothing.

All I know is that when I was a kid I couldn't make it past the Dodongo's Cavern in OoT and I was content. Why make Zelda more accessable to everyone? Soft-Core people/children should not give a crap about Zelda because they don't know what Zelda is.

I don't think I will never stop playing Zelda games only because of one mistake, there are good Zelda games like OoT and TWW to enjoy.

Re: Zelda Fan no more!

You really don't need to rat on TP anymore. The game was good. It may not have been as good as Majora's Mask or Wind Waker, but let it go. It was trying to attract people that wouldn't usually play a Zelda game, people that are usually FPS-only. Because of that they made it darker, and took out sidequests because they would annoy some people. It may have been not your cup of tea, but it's a lot of people's favorite and perhaps only Zelda. I personally liked it. People say it was easy, but it was the most difficult in my opinion. People didn't like it's story, but it won awards for that. I loved the art style, and other people did, too, but, people looking for a complete Ocarina of Time copy didn't like the new style. And, somehow, the same people complain about it being too similar to Ocarina of Time. In my opinion, Twiligh Princess falls into the uncanny valley of Ocarina of Time-similarity. The game came out three ♥♥♥♥ing years ago. Let it rest. It wasn't really bad game. Just stop bashng it for once.
