I found out yesterday that you can make your oun videogames for free! just go to yoyogames.com hit make then hit download. once it iis finished downloading you can make your own video game withought buying anything. (just turn down all offers) Just this morning I was makeing my very own legend of zelda game it isnt to good right now but I am going to make it soooooooo awsom. when it is done I will put it on yoyogames.com named "the new legend of zelda?" I hope you have fun with this.

Not to be rude, but considering all the sucky fan games out there, with the few decent ones... I would never play your game.

I still won't bother, it doesn't make good games despite how hard you try.

I already knew about Game Maker. In fact, most people do. I have started at least... 10 different games. At least two of them being Zelda. (In fact... http://www.zeldauniverse.net/forums/...-progress.html)
But I've never gone beyond the basic game engine stage.

Hmm I think this is nice. is it like Zelda Classics's game engine?

Well no you can make any basic game but you can think harder and think of ways to do things to make it as cool as a legend of Zelda game this is the fastest I have ever typed on an iPhone.

im making one. im almost done with the first chapter, but im stuck on making the stoopid boss(ps, its a sidescroller)

I've heard about that. Yeah! My farther is making a game right now doing that, (he's not done with it, and it has no name yet). It's sort of like a space invaders game right now and he's adding a bunch of stuff to it. I'm real amazed at how the program can make it real fast. I've also seen many products made from it, and I also think there very cool. Though there is a bad side to the system, (only if you somehow do it), if you click on the wrong thing or have a program in a wrong slot for information you can get viruses and bugs in the system. I guess we're all pretty lucky Legend of Zelda was never made with such a system. Though, (if i was), Legend of Zelda would have a whole new meaning.

Have to say, I have making my Zelda fangame with this Game Maker 7.0 which you are talking about. But dont think you could just download it and make same as me. You need Pro version for 3D and I have about 5 years experience. I have used Game Maker 5.3A, 6.1 and now using 7.0

If you got basic program knowledge (php, mysql, small) or higher then give Open Zelda a try.
