Fastest OoT completion

Ok I wasn't to sure if this goes into the N64 forums or here so move it if able,

Anyway I created this thread to know whats the fastest time anyone has completed Ocarina of Time in.

For me it was a few years ago and it was 4-5 hours

Another not, it doesnt have to be 100% completion you just need to have the story line completed

When you say 100 percent you mean all gold skulltulas? I went through my first time playing Oot about a week ago. I beat the game, got all the heartpieces, just was too lazy to get the skulltulas. All of this took me atleast 15 hours.

I am persoannlay against speedrunning in video games (unless its for charity of course). A game is ment to be played and enjoyed not to rush through and finish. I love to explore every nook and cranny of the world and spend time just roaming around killing enemies.

I would agree to that on a first play through. It's when the player know the whole game inside out that they usually start a speed run.

Re: Fastest OoT completion

I did a two hour and twelve minute speed-run once. Not counting cutscenes of course.

I generally avoid doing 100% runs. I like to beat the game first, then go back and slowly finish things over time. There are some things I was very anal about though, that I just had to do (the first 50 skulltulas--always as well as get the cow in the house and get all the upgrades).

I've beaten Ocarina of Time over 200 times though, which is how I was able to do that kind of speed run. I do know that a guy on youtube did it in less than two hours once.

yeah this is what i was generally meaning, unless you dont like wasting time looking for everything, i did my run when i was about 12 so by then i knew the game inside and out, and i needa play it again

Re: Fastest OoT completion

hmm..3 days. I dunno about the hour count though..I'm gonna assume somewhere from ten to twenty hours.

I wasn't trying to do a speed run though. I got a bunch of extra stuff like heart pieces, skulltulas, and the Biggoron Sword.

I dunno how I would do with a speed run. I'll have to try that.

Re: Fastest OoT completion

I've never attempted anything like a speedrun.

Does anyone know how fast the speedgamers completed it?

Re: Fastest OoT completion

To complete the final boss, my best time so far is 5 hours.
Then 1 additional hour to get all bottles, heart pieces, etc.

Re: Fastest OoT completion

Fastest complete time i managed once was 7 hours. That wasn't with all items. It took me a further 10-12 hours to acquire everything. I don't rush anymore, i take my time and pick-up items as i go along.
