Cool, looks like a fiery competition! Every hour or so a character takes the lead. Right now Gordon is winning. There is still about 3 days for the contest between them to end. Its on the 8th i guess.Its a really enjoyable contest.

Yea I know, when I first voted link was ahead by a couple thousand but then another site I got that's big steam/valve based got together and voted for Freeman.

Lets keep this going!

Anyways, I've been voting for days now... I'm starting to wonder wether it's actually counting my votes.

I would vote for Link but it only says that there has been an error in my vote and I can't vote. The poll is rigged.

That happened to me as well. It's annoying. Ah well, even if we do lose to (shudder) Freeman. At least we can be sure Link'll come second. Who wants to vote for Sammus?

Most of the people in the main page news thread haven't even heard of Gordon Freeman, which is frankly a crime against gaming. Personally I think he deserves to beat Link. If you haven't played Half Life, then in fairness you shouldn't be voting, as you have no grounds for comparison.

Now, the real winner of this should have been Abe from Oddworld, who lost to Ryu ages ago. What's also interesting is that Ryu went on to beat Wander from Shadow of the Colossus, which proves, as if there was any doubt to begin with, that this is just a popularity contest with no real merit.

C'mon people, let's pull this around! I'll get everyone I know here to vote, you do the same! WE MUST BEAT WHAT'Z FACE!!!

While I don't think Link deserves the title of greatest video game hero, he deserves it far more than Gordon Freeman, I never seen anything special about him...

Snake should have defeated him in my opinion...

In my opinion the Fabled Four should have been Snake, Gordon, Abe and Wander. I choose these because they feel distinctly Hero-y, if that makes sense; those that go out and fight and make sacrifices for their people or for a value. The rest felt less like heroes and more like protagonists, if that makes any sense

Cloud, Link,The Prince, Samus and Jade would have been close behind.

It;s probably going to come down to Link and Mario. ANd i think Link should win, but he probably will not.

Yeah, Gordon is certainly nothing special. I'm suprised that little weirdo has made it this far.
