Link Gamespot Contest- Your vote needed!

I vote that the next person to make one of these threads gets banned.

Genuinely cannot understand all the Half Life hate. In premise, it is a typical Sci-Fi, but then in premise Zelda is a typical fantasy; you can't dislike it based on the summery "A doctor fights aliens" in the same way you can't dismiss Zelda on the basis of "It's about a boy that rescues a princess". Both series are far more then what they say on the box.

Both heroes are actually quite similar: silent protagonists that serve as a link between the game and the player.

Basically this is not about one game being crap and the other being incredible, this is about the greatest hero of all time!
No doubt is Freeman a great hero too, as all of you who have played the Half-Life games will know. However, don't you think that THE Hero of TIME deserves a little more credit?

Links heroic deeds seem to be unmatched in the gaming world in my opinion and I don't want to see him to go out in the semi-final!!!
So yeah, lets get those votes in zelda fans because every vote will count it seems.

Greetings. Just pointing out that Link is ~250 votes down at the moment with little time left to vote. As has been mentioned in the news post, the sheer sources of opposition he's facing are almost insurmountable. It isn't just Half Life/Valve fans. Previous Bub & Bob supporters, people that don't want to see an all Nintendo final, those that aren't voting for Link because 'he wins all the time', and others. Some of the reasons people have for voting against Link are enough to make one feel as if their childhood is being trampled upon by a horde of Wildebeests. Most heroes would have succumbed to the opposition by now. But not Link. He's still in it, despite the odds.

The victory is very much up for grabs. Defeat looms large. The odds are against him. Link is staring annihilation in the face. Join him. Every vote counts!

(No hard feelings Gordon, but you and your franchise don't cause me to shed a tear for all the right reasons every single time).

Why does Link need to win though? Why is it so critical that a mindless construction of ones and zeroes defeats another mindless construction of ones and zeroes in an internet poll?

Oh, and just so you know, I voted for Gordon Freeman.

guh? ok, people, look. we're on a zelda site, are we not? shouldn't we support link, since were on a site based on his games...? plus, I hate silver, and he voted for gordon, so naturally I'd vote for his opponent.

I don't know what you're getting at. I'm not losing anything. The only one losing is a video game character. Gordon losing some random competition won't bother me in the least. I just voted because I have enjoyed Gordon's recent games far more enjoyable than Link's. Also Gravity Gun.

If you are truly that desperate to see me "lose", then seriously dude, grow up.

yeah this is a Zelda forums,but people can like other characters besides link....and hating people for that reason is kinda stupid.

I don't hate silver for just this, I just hate him in general.

For what, pointing out how juvenile it is to try and get me "lose" in to lose in a competition of which I am not even a participant, as well as the flaws in that logic, as well as justifying why I voted for Gordon?

okay, let me get this clear. I hated silver before this thread existed. I hated him the moment he posted in my fanfic, and I looked at alot of his posts whithout improvement. My hate barley has anything to do with this thread.
