Revolution

At Nintendo's Pre-E3 Press Conference, President Satura Iwata touched briefly on the Gamecube's successor.
With a new codename, Revolution, Mr Iwata said that better technology is good but not necessarily better.
Mr Iwata went on to say that the Nintendo Revolution will be something completely different to what we are used to.
Iwata-san also said that when the new console is released there will be a gaming revolution.
Bold words, I'm sure.

What could this entirely different aspect of console gaming be? I'd like some sort of motion capture suit to control characters with That's not likely going to happen, though.

What do you think the Revolution will entail?

EDIT: For the full story go to http://cube.ign.com/articles/513/513531p1.html where you will find details of the Press Conference including Iwata's spiel on the Revolution.

Re: Revolution

Frankly, I think Nintendo has had enough innovation after the DS. I want a new home console like the GameCube, not something completely differnet from everything else. Sure, if it can be that as well as include the innovations it'd be fine, but not before. I don't want to have a revolutionary console with millions of things that it can do if it means giving up the core elements (something I doubt Nintendo would do) of what make a console worth playing.

Re: Revolution

Hey, lets hope that the Revolution will have graphics and sound to out-beat Microsoft Xbox Next. Also, I think it will still have the connectivity function avable as Nintendo is getting rich off this function so it wont be rare if the next system uses connectivity.

Re: Revolution

Revolution.....thats a good name for the Gc's succesor, Nintendo has showed that they still have a lot of their spark showing us original consoles like the Ds that may not beat technologically its competence (PSP) but it has a lot more potential....im looking for new ways of gaming, thats why i have never had separated myself from Nintendo, so im hoping that they do surprise us "again" with this new machine.....

Re: Revolution

Look, I don't think they will "succeed". Sony has already convinced millions and millions of people that Nintendo is apparently just a console for children (or perhaps Nintendo themselves did) and now everybody are either going for Xbox or PS2. I see that style everywhere, it's like GameCube is out of the question at once, only PS2 and Xbox excist. I hate to say it, but I don't think Nintendo are going to be any more successful in the future.
