Japan-only Fire Emblems

So I started FE4 recently. And it is going to kick my ass.

I took one look at the map of Chapter 1 (after the prologue) and went "****".

The Prologue? Oh please, by FE4 standards that map is tiny.

Ah, sorry, misread that.

But yeah, chapter 1 gives you a pretty good idea of the scope of FE4's maps.

Chapter 2 is worse cus you gotta go back to your home castle after going all the way to the other side of the map.

Yeah one of the things that turned me off a bit on FE4 was its maps and their mindbogglingly large size.

Ya get used to it. Most of the action is normally concentrated around one castle anyway. After you capture that castle, some plot point happens, then you move onto the next castle.

So I jerk it to pictures of Idoun and Ninian. Does that make me a bad person?

In all seriousness, this Fire Emblem talk recently have gotten me to play the series again! Thanks guys!

Anyone play this game? It's basically Fire Emblem on PlayStation. It was made when the creator left IS, but then Ninty sued because it was similar to the FE series. Many fans see this as the "true" FE6.

^Dang, that IS a lot like Fire Emblem. In fact, I probably would have thought it was an FE game if the PS logo wasn't up there in the top right corner. o_o

It probably is the real FE6, in a way. I mean, the producer for 1, 2, 3, and 4 (and he came up with most of the ideas for 5) died, and the director for 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 left after 5, and then Intelligent Systems was revamped anyway. FE6+ may as well have been made by a totally different company to the FE5- games. TearRing Saga's team has more people from the original FE5 team than FE6 did.

That said it was sued, crashed, and burned, so w/e.

But why leave if he was gonna make the same game?

Well, Nintendo still owned the rights to Fire Emblem.

He left because of "creative differences" - ie, his co-partner was thrown out of the company and died shortly afterwards, and his team was massively changed by the shuffle round that affected all of Nintendo's departments (it was at the same time as the R&D thing).

I have no idea. I merely mentioned that in reference to their reason for the lawsuit.

To my great shame, I've never played a Japan-only Fire Emblem game.*gasp*
