Its been fixed i think. What you can do is send your already purchased RD copy to Nintendo of America or something and they send you a fixed one. Something like that.
Serenes Forest is probably the best FE site on the internet in terms of content. The forums arent bad. Snow Storm was banned from there for using an alternate account or something like that. (its against the rules )

Wolfen, Silver, do you post on the forums? If so, VM me your screennames! Im there alot of the time lurking. Ranil, the forums are oddly informative aside from tier debates and stuff. People know their stats there so its not always a bad idea to see what they have to say. You dont have to post or register to lurk. (plus i think the layout and the skins are nice there)

Also, the number of chapters does not necessarily equal game length. FE4 had 12 chapters, but each chapter is about the equivalent of four chapters in the other games (with the exception of the prologue, which is probably about two), and it feels immensely long because of it.

Well the huge maps in that game make up for lack of chapters obviously. I can see how that balances out.

Did you register sometime between March and June? If so, yeahhhhh.... *facepalms* Some accounts got lost and people had to reregister.

I joined around the time of the whole FE4 remake hoax.

So I've been working on a fake English title screen for Genealogy of the Holy War, and I was able to get the logo done with the help of insaney.



I recolored the logo from a fan translation of Mystery of the Emblem, and insaney put the English logo back in, plus with shadows.



Whaddya think? I took out the "Fire Emblem" image that was in the top left of Monsho no Nazo's image, and am trying to figure out how to do the subtitles. I wanna keep a similar font and color as the Japanese lettering, but with English words of course.

The subtitles are too long for both Monsho no Nazo (Mystery of the Emblem) and Seisen no Keifu (Genealogy of the Holy War). :<

This got me thinking as to how the English titles are never the same as the Japanese. They're normally changed to something shorter, but still get the point across.

The Sacred Stones -> Shining Stones of Holiness and Evil
Path of Radiance -> Trail of the Blue Flame
Radiant Dawn -> Goddess of the Dawn
Shadow Dragon-> New Shadow Dragons and the Blade of Light

I wonder what titles FE3 and FE4 would get if they were localized. FE1, FE2, and FE5 would probably stay as just Shadow Dragon, Gaiden, and Thracia 776. I have heard FE4 as being referred to as The Ancestral Crusade. FE3 would sound weird if it had "emblem" twice in the title.

What would you like the titles to be?

Genealogy of the Holy War is a really horrible, literal translation. I've always prefered "The Crusade's Legacy".

Eh, I dunno really.

I prefer the shorter titles though, cause they're easier to write out when necessary. I also think they sound cooler anyway. :3

I also like how FE9 and 10's titles sorta connect with one another. Path of Radiance. Radiant Dawn. That is so cool. I liked that idea so much, that when I planned my fanfic RD sequel, I continued the connection. :3

I dunno, RD makes things a lot less frustrating by allowing you to save, and it also has tons of units.

It also has a ton of crappy units and nixes support conversations (for all intents and purposes).

I really don't know, they're both similar, but saving is definitely a plus in RD.

Ranil is going to tell you to get both (PoR first), so I'll just save her the trouble. The story doesn't seem to be crucial to me, since I'm playing RD fine after I've only played half of PoR. Then again, I don't care about Fire Emblem stories anyway.

Yeah, both are my favorite games ever.

PoR should be played first though if you want to completely understand RD. The storylines are epic though. I loved them to bits. :3

If you care about story, I'd suggest starting with the beginning of the story. However, I have never played the console games, yet.

You should. They're actually kind of fun. Plus, it's awesome how realistic the fighting looks, except when using Peg Knights / Wyvern Riders.

Kind of fun? They're REALLY fun if you ask me.

Play all of them. It isnt really a series where only a few are good while the rest suck.

So, here's an (incredibly trvial) error I noticed in the FE4 translation, thanks to browsing Wikipedia: the castle Lubeck in chapter 5 should actually have an umlaut over the "u".

I'm officially pissed off with FE7. The ****ing arena in chapter 17x keeps killing SOMEBODY. Now, I'm just going to use the Heroes Crest on Raven, instead of Bartre, because Raven is strangely god-like in the arena.

So guys, I have been playing FE4 lately, and now I have finished Chapter 5. I have to say that I want a hug. :<

Its funny how you can get attached to characters who barely even talk throughout the entire game, but I was bawling my eyes when Alvis destroyed my army. Maybe its because I spent so long getting people together, and levelling them up. Funnily enough the conversation between Jamka and Dew before the final showdown made me the most saddest, because even the youngest character (whos like, what ten?) knew that something terrible was going to happen, and it seemed that the others were trying to get him to leave so that he could survive. Too bad hardly anyone did. :<

I also have a lot of respect for Finn. Even though he looks like Marth's long lost twin, hes very manly. I was very sad when he had to leave because he was one of my best units. Soon he will be back and he'll destroy everything. Bwahahahaha. Then there is Sety. If he is anything like his father (Levin), then hes going to destroy everything. Plus Aira's kids are awesome too. =D
