...Seriously, though, Florina's gotta be one of the best units in the series (from my extremely limited-- read: almost no-- knowledge on the series). Nothing ever hit her by endgame, and if it did, it usually didn't do any damage or did minimal.
Seriously, she was like my favorite unit in FE7.

OHHHHHH You are my best friend! Florina is the best peg knight in the series in my opinion. And yeah FE7 is my favorite. I love Hector mode so much! Its the ONLY way to get the full story out of the game, really. No lie. Hidden gaiden chapters everywhere and more chapters in general. Its just awesome. Also Oswin = the best General ever.

Florina, have you played Ike's games? He was supposed to have been inspired by Hector. At least that's what I hear.

That's weird though, because I love Ike and hate Hector. xP

Speaking of Hector though, I'm considering trying to continue FE7 again. I got an idea that should work and keep that moron from dying on me again. >_>

Your right, it does give you the full game. It has the extra main chapters, as well as the second side chapter for chapter 19 that explains some backstory if I recall, and then there are the Kushina chapters.

Yeah of course ive played Ike's games, Ranil. I own all of the FEs released here except Shadow Dragon. That one is actually a Euro pirated version i got ages before the game was released here. (never bothered to get the actual US version)
Ike resembles Hector but i like Hector's character more. Hes all in your face. Plus he always ends up broken by the end of the game.

I don't play the Ike games, but what I believe makes Hector such a good character to me is the difficulty that he symbolizes, as I have stated. He is the hardest Lord to use and his quest is the hardest. Plus, I always pair him up with Lyn, who is one of my other 3 favorite FE characters along with Florina and Tana.

I still haven't been able to get myself to complete a FE game outside of 7. They all fel too similar.

There are a couple things that make Sacred Stones different from 7. The rookies, the multiple promotion paths (for the rookies, I always made Ross a Berserker, Amelia a Great Knight, and Ewan a Druid), additional classes (priest, mage knight, great knight), abilities, overworld map (though I think this was in a Japan-exclusive game), a real use for Bishops (they were mostly rather weak, in my personal opinion), the ability to play after the ending, bonus characters, and the ability to play stages like the Tower of Valni and the Lagdou Ruins.

Why don't you play Ike's games? I thought they were the best games I ever played. They're underrated and really good.

I've considered playing them, it's just that I've always been so use to the portable ones that the idea of playing them on the gamecube and wii, with what appeared to be a different graphic style (could be misremembering) just seemed foreign to me. It's not like Legend of Zelda, which is constantly changing the style, it just did a good job of imprinting a picture of what it's supposed to be like and, from what I saw, the Radiance games just seemed so different.

Different should be good then. I started out with the Radiance games and when I started on the GBA games, I didn't feel like they were foreign. Just give them a chance! :3

I totally loved them. Btw, aside from Ike, Boyd is the coolest character in the game.

Which one was Boyd again? I can't remember all the names, but it sounds familiar. Or were you talking about the Radiance games?

Boyd was Ike's bland and forgettable friend.

Japanese only Fire Emblem games are better, Lyn and Florina are lesbian lovers, Sigurd and Hector are better than Ike, Crystal's taste in Fire Emblem characters is bad, Snow Storm's taste in Fire Emblem characters is bad, and I love the taste of strawberry ice cream.

It's like Advance Wars, except with non-expendable units and RPG elements.
It has the same sort of grid-based, turn-based strategy system, but has a lot of different things about it, such as stats/leveling up, and weapons.

Also, if a character dies, they're gone for good (most of the time). Unlike Advance Wars where you can just build another md tank.

EDIT: So in short, they're about as similar as they can be while still being completely different. In terms of your units, Advance Wars is more expendable and is often about quantity, and Fire Emblem is much less expendable and is about leveling your characters up and utilizing them while keeping them all alive.

I think we all know that this is the only canon recent Fire Emblem relationship.

Anyway, I only actually own Shadow Dragon, and although I haven't actually played past the first like, 2 levels, the game does seem good. It just seems a little plain to me, although I'm probably not in a position to be making a judgement, considering my meagre amount of actual gameplay.

Seeing as it's a remake of the first NES game and they didn't really add much story, expect Shadow Dragon to be bland. And the graphics are worse then the GBA FE's. What the hell?
