Perhaps because the system came out a year sooner and was much cheaper? Also PS3s were expensive the year they came out, hurting sales. Its not because people didn't want the hardware, its just it cost too much at the time, the slim is proving people want the thing.

3. Natal has no thunder and never will. MS are primarily trying to introduce Natal to the "hardcore" gamers. The casual gamers will always be treated as second class customers, and thus very few will buy it. As long as MS's primary consumer is the "hardcore" gamer, Natal will never gain steam.

4. If Nintendo was able to greatly outsell the competition with a price of $250 and a Wii Sports Bundle, why would they need to cut the price and introduce a Resort bundle?

Because the public will realize they can get a more powerful system with a pretty large library of good games for just a little more money? Nintendo can afford it too, the system is not expensive to make.

PS3 slim won't boost hardware sales longterm. It's always the games. The games. The reason Wii lost steam, the GAMES! The reason that the DS has consistently outsold the PSP, THE GAMES!

The 360 came out a year earlier to beat PS3 to good exclusives, and it somewhat saw some large success with this. It didn't come out a year earlier just to get hardware sales, it came out a year earlier to get good games first, which would put it in a good position for longterm sales.

Yeah, I'm actually expecting the Wands and Natal to get some good "hardcore" games. However, as long as the "hardcore" are the primary audience, the Wii isn't threatened.

Have you noticed the "evergreen" titles that came from Nintendo? The ones that have sold like monsters? Games like Mario Kart Wii? Heck, MKDS and NSMB DS were still in the top 20 for sales last month. Does this not say anything about Nintendo and their games, like, how they're totally not threatened?

And I don't see RS2 selling particularly well. Don't use that as an argument.

The only people who value your "large library of 'good' games" and your "power" are the "Hardcore" gamers. The Casual gamers are treated like trash on the PS3 and 360.

The casual gamers do not value powerful consoles. They do not value "hardcore" games. The Wii has a larger library of games that appeal to them. And they are in the majority. Tell me why you think the Wii is threatened.

I want you to tell me, right now, why you think the Wii has been outselling the PS3 and 360 all this time. And please don't say price.

That has been a moot point for almost three years now. Price isn't the matter, as any person with just a little insight to Nintendo's strategy with the Wii would tell you.

Nintendo can afford it too, the system is not expensive to make.

Allow me to elaborate, if you will. There is no way in hell that Nintendo would be able to compete against Sony and MS under "their rules". However, Nintendo has become a god (that is, until recently, due to lack of "Killer Apps"/system-selling games) at fighting by "their rules", which Sony and MS would find difficult to do.

I would argue that in some cases, Nintendo is the worst offender, particularly in Zelda. Otherwise, besides sharing the same mascots, their games are very differentiable between spin-offs and sequels.

Oh, and Best Buy and Target have both confirmed the price drop. Wii at $199. No change in what comes with the system has been noted at this point.

be a good business strategy, even though many cases of price drops have shown otherwise.

A price drop is a sign of desperation, i.e its more of a last resort.

But Nintendo aren't at all threatened (see my previous posts as to why). Plus, Fit+ and NSMBW are soon appearing, and Resort has just begun to lift Wii HW sales. Also, pricecuts will have very little effect on longterm sales.

Nintendo is stupid for going straight to the backup plan when they havent even gone halfway through the master plan. If there were a pricecut, it should be next year.

Also, I find it funny that people havent complained this much about the DSi, which basically made the DS price higher on average...

For you, maybe.

As for DSi, it's DSiware that's helped it prove its worth. Every other feature about it combined doesn't come close to matching what DSiware has offered.

DSiware is not that great yet though. The only ones I really liked out now are MvsDK and Picopict.
Still hoping for a virtual hand held though.

Flipnote Studio is awesome. So is Asphalt 4, Mighty Flip Champs, Pop+ Solo, Puzzle League Express and pretty much all of the Artstyle games. Plus the Web Brower's pretty good, and free, at that.

Puzzle league express is just the same as Puzzle league DS, only without most of its content.:/
I agree on the rest, besides asphalt, but I'm not into racing games.
