Who is a more memorable character: Link or Mario?

yeah i've never been let down by Zelda either

Link is a very memorable character to those familiar with the series and Nintendo, but most of the time, when you mention the character Link, people don't know who you're talking about until you mention Zelda. There are still people who think the hero is named Zelda, and they have no idea who this "Link" you speak of is. Sad, but unfortunately true.

Mario, however, is a known far and wide by most people, even those who aren't really that into gaming. He's the mascot, and he's just a lot more memorable because of his numerous games and cameos. Link is awesome and all, but Mario is known by almost everyone.

Link in my opinion. Yeah I may be adding favoritism in it all but.. ya know.

In my opinion I think Link is a more memorable character.

That's why I voted for Mario.

Anyone who votes for Link over Mario is letting their bias get in the way. Mario easily, he's more famous, more iconic and has more of a personality.

oh yeah a little red italian guy who is so greedy he has money for health really is a cult of personality. right. link is way more awesome and if we did'nt like link better, why would we be on zelda website?

He's saying more people know Mario than Link, and those who say Link is more famous is letting their likeness for Link bias their vote.

Well mostly because Legend of Zelda games portrayed the Hero as a Kid.

I can still remember talking to friends when LoZ came out and how you thought Link was Zelda, I mean c'mon a brand new video game titled: "Legend of Zelda" as a kid I suppose you'd assume that the character your playing has to be Zelda..if not than...why is there a legend about you?

I'd say Mario. Been in more games, and has made more of a mark on the earth.

I think Mario is more memorable because he's more charming, it's a me Mario. More people will know of Mario than link.

I say mario even thoug I like zelda games better. Mario always has new games and they are all over and He is just a more memorable person. Link Is kind of more suttle meaning he has less comershals and stuff.

My friend called Super Mario "the mushroom man game" just a few days back. XD
But, I'd say Link. Sure, people mistake him for Zelda but the people I know tend to like the mute, green-clothed hero better than the goomba-killing plumber.

Australians are weird, it would seem.

I say Mario. A plumber with a red hat and quite the nose saying, "It's-a-me Mario" is much more iconic and memorable than an elf with a sword and shield.
