But the focus is equal or more on platforming, exploring and puzzle-solving. First person adventure/platformer. Corruption had less of these elements.

Not when Nintendo has classified the first game to be a first-person adventure, not a shooter. I think the same applies to Echoes and Corruption, in contradiction to what GreenPhazon posted. I thought the third game had no less exploration and puzzle-solving than the last ones, therefore it is still a first-person adventure.

Nintendo's classification is fine and dandy, but it's still a first-person shooter.

Corruption had a major drop in the amount of puzzles, and each area was pretty linear.

Bull****. Not every game played in first person perspective with guns has to be labelled a shooter. Fallout 3 is not a shooter, it's an RPG. Mirror's edge is not a shooter, it's an action-adventure. Portal is not a shooter, it's a puzzler game. Thief isn't a shooter, it's a stealth game And if any games with guns in first person is an adventure-puzzler, it's Metroid Prime.

On a less important note, I played a little Halo: Combat Evolved today. I'd forgotten how great the campaign is. Truly great first person action.

Fallout 3 is a RPG-shooter. Granted, it's not very good on the shooter side.

Mirror's edge is not a shooter, it's an action-adventure.

This is the only one you're right about. Mirror's Edge does not place an emphasis on killing enemies or using a weapon to aim at. It's a first-person action-racing game.

Portal is not a shooter, it's a puzzler game.

Portal requires extensive use of a "gun" that shoots in the first person. It's a shooter.

Thief isn't a shooter, it's a stealth game

I haven't played Thief, but if it has extensive use of some sort of projectile weapon, then it's a stealth-shooter.

And if any games with guns in first person is an adventure-puzzler, it's Metroid Prime.

With all of the shooting and defeating enemies you do, Metroid Prime is certainly a shooter. A first-person shooter-adventure-puzzle game.

A game doesn't have to be one single genre.
