Exclamation The Next Big Thing for Wii? Let's make our own!

Hey, has anyone wondered what could be possible using the same tech that make other things so advanced and implimenting with our fave companies gear and whatnot? Like they're already usin wireless commonly used in bluetooth devices, since hackers and gm mods have found a cleaver way to use the oh so fun wi remote on computer games.

I got bored and thought I'd come up with a few things that'll probably be possible in two or three years if Nentindo gets in their thinking tank. Not sure of the uses, but I can think of a few examples.

Wii Power Glove: A thin cloth glove that uses the same circuit tech used to make those roll out keyboards, motion detection devices(The stuff they use in Hollywood) and a built in Wii motion pluss. Can be used in place of the gaudy and boring nunchuck in several places.

How it works?: It has several small LED sensors similar to those used on the wii sensor bar. These sensors are placed in spots where your hand naturally bends. (Finger joints, cup of the hand ect) When these sensors detect movement, the game responds as programed to those movements.

These movements for example, would be particularly emersive in a Naruto game: Using the glove hand, you could form the hand signs shown on the screen by matching your hand with the one on the opposite side. If done correctly your jutsu works, if not, well you get two more tries.(To add to the rush of the game, less time is alloted for the next fiew tries) You could also hold down a button on the wii remote signaling the opening of a shurikan Kunai pouch. Using the proper motions you would use to toss your Kunai, or even up to three in real life. Even more impresive the harder you swing, the faster your weapon is sent flying. Adding yet another emersive touch to the experiance.

The upside: This ahem...gimmick, not only has a superior emersiveness to the game being played. But depending on it's content (IE Naruto) it could also have much needed health benefits. The improvements of hand-eye coordination through experiance and use.

The downside?: Unfortunately it would most likely cost around $45 per unit to construct, meaning a ticket price of $59 to compensate. If built improperly, it could be bulky and annoying.

Silver lining?: Over All I'd say this IS possible, if Nintendo's researchers would stop revamping their OLD games and adding wii controls to them and get their development team off their butts for more than a few hours.

So what's up, got any bright ideas, post em up! Maybe if we talk enough about it Nintendo might jump into the fray you know?

I just want something to project DS games onto my TV screen through the Wii. Turn Scribblenauts into a family competition or something.

As of now, I don't have a DS.

But this would actually be nice. Just wondering, would it be hard to use the wireless connectivity between the DS and the Wii to do such a thing?

It could be done technically. All you do is stream the video over wireless. Not that you would ever want to play a DS resolution game on anything bigger than a DS screen.

Simply put, I think we'll see an HD-compatible Wii 2 that takes some of Natal's full body tracking ideas. Nintendo knows that they're in serious jeopardy of losing the casual market, but I have faith they can pull off their control system better than Microsoft can. They don't need to quite reinvent the wheel this time, they just need to make their implementation better, more responsive, and more engaging for players. Consumers already know the Wii name, and if they can get their product out quickly and have it be competitive with Microsoft's, then Natal won't stand a chance.
