Lost Winds: Winter of Melodias (Finally!) Announced

Woohoo! Another game to add to my small handful of desired WiiWare games.

I will enjoy it either way, but I would love to see them add more complexity to the game over the first title, and most of all, given how long it has taken them to make the second game, more content in general. Waiting a year and a half/two years for another two hour game is a bit of a turn-off.

Information should be hitting the net soon. At this point in time, I'll be downloading day one!

Finally! Hope they add a lot more content and powers to this game.

Deets:

The game has a season changing mechanic. Allows "Toku to flip between summer and winter at crucial moments."
Skills now include swimming, creating cyclones (which can do anything from drilling throuugh rocks to scooping up water)
New in game map
In game hint system.
They were pleased with the original but have tons of new ideas to still use.

Oracle of Seasons, anyone?

FINALLY! I've been waiting on this for so long, man.

More info-

- Devs listened for complaint about length
- NPCs are more interactive and have more to say, help you more (which will add to the game’s length)
- Takes place almost immediately following the first game
- Magdi (Toku’s mother) has gone missing while exploring ruins of a city created by the Melodia
- Toku and Enril go to the mountains to rescue her – her journal provides the only clues
- Arrive at Summerfalls Village – it’s trapped in an eternal winter
- People at the village fear monsters in the snow
- Toku manages to get the help of Sonte, a spirit who can help him change seasons
- Old elements are still in this sequel in addition to a number of new elements
- Changing seasons will be important for many puzzles
- Glorbs (gooey enemies from the first game) are back and have new forms
- Create a cyclone by pressing buttons in the Wii remote and doing a firm shake
- Sales of the first game “were pretty much spot on” with the developer’s predictions
- Game is almost done with development

If the developers have taken notice of the fact that the first game was too short, maybe we'll get a longer one this time.

First Okamiden, now this. It's been a good week for sequel hype.

This is probably my next must buy game.

Sounds like fun. I loved the first one despite being two or three hours long (really was worth $5 instead of $10), so if that means a more substantial game then I'll be very happy. The slower-paced, slightly more cerebral take on the Metroid formula makes this series stand out in my mind, and the first LostWinds is still up there as one of the best WiiWare games available.

I agree. I'd rank it second, with Megaman 9 as number 1.

I didn't mind the length of the first one, just the rather poo final boss fight. Looks good so far, so I'm gonna keep my eye on this one.

The first was pretty damn good, the only faults being in difficulty and length. If they fix the length, I can easily suffer low difficulty if it's as good as the previous one.

I thought that boss was very well done, until you realise that the first boss also happens to b e the last boss. I was like "Dude, where's the rest of my game?".
