Custom Robo
Since I could not find one, I thought I'd start a thread about this game coming out for GameCube.
The other day, while at wal mart, there was a demo set up with Custom Robo as an option. So I figured I'd give it a try. After messing with some customization possibilities, I finally came out with a robot to battle with. So I started the game and had at the computer. It is an interesting game, the only gameplay option available was arcade mode. The battle arenas are called "Holosseums", I should think I don't have to explain that one. Anyway, you are ejected in a little cube from this cannon looking thingy in the middle of the level. And you want to try and aim yourself so that your cube lands behind a wall or some cover. Because your opponent might break out of their cube first. Your robo has three weapon types which you can equip. Your hand gun, your bomb(which is on your other arm) and "pods" which are a thing on your back. The various handgun's were cool, some typical, some not so much. The bombs work quite differently from one another, with speed, arc, attack power, this and that. But there is alot more to it than just that. Because you can also have different bodies, or chasis' if you will, which are better suited for different things. There is a chasis centered more on air time, and air dashs. Another is like a walking tank, which can dish it out and take it in. And of course your perfectly balanced model, good all around(my preference). If I recall correctly, Custom Robo hits store shelves sometime in May. Personally, I'm not going to pick it up, but that also is due to the fact that I'm going to college in a few months, and have no friends, so I don't need to be spending money on it, or any other games for that matter. Your thoughts on it?

Re: Custom Robo
I played the demo.
I didn't see anything too great about that game. It's very basic, there is not much too it besides the customization of the parts and that's not that great at all. If you're thinking about buying it, I would look at a demo of it first to see if you like it at all. |

Re: Custom Robo
I agree with Insanity, while I was trying to be somewhat neutral/positive about it, honestly the game IMO ain't all that great.
It's okay, but its like Wario Mega Party games, good for a rental, but not much more than that. But who knows, maybe its just what someone out there is looking for......

Re: Custom Robo
I think if it was good enough to get a couple cool trophys on SSBM (if you guys got that far...) then it is good enough for me. I, personally, liked the look of the game just by looking at the SSBM trophys, then again that was custom robo2... plus, i think that i speak for most people when I say that everybody loves a good game where you can customize stuff! fighting robots just add to it! bring it on! i can handle it... the question is... can it handle me?

Re: Custom Robo
Custom Robo 2 is the one we're getting, I believe. The first one was a N64 game. After renting, I have to say it feels pretty generic, especially for a Nintendo made game. Just not that great. My brother thinks it's strangely addictive though.
