The villain's plan is never explained. He's a bad guy and then it's like "Why?" and then he turns into Dark Falz, the common final boss in the Phantasy Star Series, but it's never explained why, how, or what the ♥♥♥♥ he was trying to accomplish.

in online mode if you choose to be a beast your special ability is to turn into a furry at level 20

Well maybe they never explained his motivation but did they ever explain Majora's in MM? No it just wanted to cause random destruction.

Oh god that takes me back, that song was funny as all hell. I can only hope it was tongue-in-cheek. I cant imagine someone at Rare thinking "This song is ♥♥♥♥ing brilliant!"

I wish there would be a true DK platformer once again.

The DK 64 rap is hilarious. Rare has a brilliant sense of humor; it's a shame that they are unable to work on DK games anymore. They did more good for the series than Nintendo ever did, and this is evidenced by how Nintendo has done virtually nothing major with the Donkey Kong character since Rare left.

Donkey Kong was one of Nintendo's premier franchises during their early years and during the Rare era. While it didn't shape the company as much as Mario did, one must not ignore the effect it had on the company.

Oh yeah, it has to have been done that way on purpose. No one could have taken it seriously. It was no more serious than the Great Mighty Poo's song.

I'm not saying he is. However, the Donkey Kong franchise was still very important in shaping the company; its genesis was where Miyamoto's famous work began. When it was handed over to Rare and transformed from an arcade series to a platformer/adventure franchise, one of the defining games of the SNES was born, Donkey Kong Country.

This is true. Hell, even in Mario Party DK's been kicked out of the playable character roster.

One of the problems, I think, is that Nintendo doesn't have much of a sense of humor; it's possible that they don't know where to go with a series so heavily rooted in comic relief (As well as the occasional videogame/self-satire).

Majora is a mask with evil sealed in it. Majora doesn't need a motivation because he is more of a force of evil bound on destroying everything than a person. Skull Kid, however, who you think is the villain until the end DOES have a motivation. He felt lonely and even betrayed by people he thought were his friends. When he got Majora's Mask, he lost control because it was way too powerful for him.

In other words, Majora's Mask worked. PSO's villain doesn't because there is no goal for him.
