Chronicles was developed by Bioware, and Heroes sucked nuts.

Heroes had a very unique system of gameplay. While it was unusual i found heroes to be a decent game but i agree that SA2 was the only good game for a while(with Chronicles being the exception).

I repeat: Chronicles was developed by Bioware.

Also, while I liked the idea behind Heroes, just from playing the demo I was overwhelmed by how badly the game was thrown together. It was just as badly programmed as the Adventure games, too, if not worse (and I almost thought that was impossible).

But now we're way off-topic.

I never payed attention to the music in Sonic heroes so a link would help. Also like i said i really didn't find anything wrong with the first video posted than this thread other than the fact that it gets annoying when they repeat the same lyrics over and over.

Prince of Persia 2: The Shadow and the Flame had the worst MIDI music, ever. It sounded like your ears were being raped, which sucks because the music for the Prince of Persia games has always been awesome, hell even POP 3D had the best sound track and that game was pretty damn buggy.

Well we have different opinions. Personally i think it works well with the actual visual aspect of the video but whatever. In regards to the link what the hell are you talking about! That is one of my favorite songs in the entire series!

The lyrics are atrocious. I'll tell you what it is-- I'm almost 100% certain that what they did was take the Japanese lyrics (which probably sucked just as bad) and then literally translated them without fitting them to the song. Did you even listen to how stupid they sound? How did you not crack up at "IT'S CALLED STARSHIP EEEEEEEEARTH!!"?

In regards to the link what the hell are you talking about! That is one of my favorite songs in the entire series!

I agree it starts off rather stupid(i did feel like laughing when they said that) but that video actually got me interested in the game. I'm going to do some research on it. Anyway what do you mean literally translated without fitting them to the song?

They directly took the words from Japanese and didn't localize it. They're the exact translations. This is probably the stupidest thing you can do to the language when you release a game, especially in a song of all things.

What's to localize?

edit: badly worded question. What i mean is what is wrong with it that localization could fix?

Simply put, to adapt a script or something similar to a specific region.

Other than that, I don't really think I'll be able to explain it in a way you'll understand.

Say a line of dialogue in Japanese directly translated to "Look! Jack is in the spot over there!"

The localized version would be "Hey, he's over there!"
Direct translation is not enough to bring a game to another region. You can see why failing to localize is disastrous in a song, where the lyrics must fit within the melody and sound right. In this song's case, it does not look like they did that at all, since it sounds absolutely ridiculous all throughout the song, and I could write a better song in my sleep, having no musical experience.

Well it got me interested in the game so it gets points for that IMO. Anyway what would you have replace some of the lyrics with?

Pfffft, I don't know, I haven't played the freaking game. But I'm sure anything I could come up with would be better than what's there.

The DK64 rap is so bad it's hilarious. Who didn't like watching that opening scene? (All of the versions since have been painful, however. But the original is funny.)

Indeed - it's so terrible that it manages to break the barrier of the most cringeworthy song and loop straight back into being one of the most enjoyable songs ever.
