Final fantasy VII

yeah so I heard this was good and wanted to know whether I should buy it for the ps1, it' £25.00 off of ebay in complete condition, but I just wanted to know is it similar to zelda and is it worth buying?

Find Final Fantasy VI first. It's pretty much better in almost every way.

DUDE!!! It is one of THE games to own. I'm not going to say it's the best Final Fantasy because everyone has their opinions but this is definitely a game to be played. I say get it.

Also, to answer your question, it's actually nowhere along the lines of Zelda. It's a turn based RPG. So yeah. XD

But trust me, the story will make you go through it all. The graphics are kinda horrible but keep in mind that this game was made in 97 and back then the graphics were amazing. =]

thanks you guys, I don't care about graphics seeing as both my fav games came out in 1998 and 2000 as well as I love and keep playing tekken 2.

Oot was made in 1998 and had 10x better graphics. I don't think these were ever considered good graphics.

you mean it's worse than oot? (graphics wise) please tell me it's better than tekken 2.

OoT just had more visuals which it tried very hard to focus on seeing how it was the first 3D Zelda game........ They wanted everyone to explore and see the world....... =] Which made it seem like it had better graphics. (Which it did!) However, I believe if Square Soft would have went with the rotating camera instead of the fixed camera views, they could have rendered everything better and maybe matched OoT no problem. Hell, I believe they could have bested them. But they just moved the FF series over to the PS1 at that time. They probably didn't know they had a little more play room to actually expand their game. Look at FF8. Those were honestly, in my opinion, the best graphics on the PS1. =]

it's not too bad, they're ok graphics but the Game comes in 2 discs, is it like 2 games long or something?

FFVII is 3 discs.

Wait, FF7 came in 3 disks. FF8 Came in four. XD

It's all just a really long story. Trust me, your first play through will take you somewhere between 70-90 hours. That's considering you take the same path as everyone else when you get to the last fight and have to retry like 50 times. Then after losing so many times, you will realize that you need to train more then you'll go back 10 hours later to try and beat the final boss again.

And Squall24, You beat me to it. =p I just saw you posted that it was 3 disks.

Took me less than 40 hours.

3 discs???? wow!!! it's that long huh? how many hours is each disc?

XD My timer was maxed out at 99:59:59
It was probably like over 150 hours....... Only cause I wanted Master Materia For everyone

That's how much I played that game. Took me forever to get everyone a complete set of master Materia. =/


And each disk really isn't that long. It just depends on how fast you level up and all that crap. Trust me, this game at some points is not easy.

The last disk is just the final boss area. The first two were about 20 hours each for me.

It will make the game a lot more enjoyable. ^_^

and no, you actually have to play the other two disks. it plays based on your progress which is saved to memory cards..... =] Just like any other PS1 game. =]

ohhhhhh ok cool , yeah I don't wanna spoil it for myself but it's hard going on youtube without people saying sepirooothhhh was epicccc even though I don't know who it is. does that spoil anything for me?

That doesn't ruin anything for you though. If you've played Kindom Hearts 1 or 2, you probably already know Sephiroth is epic. =]

He's actually kinda generic imo. VII might be hit or miss with you. Many people love it so much because it was their first RPG or Final Fantasy. It really isn't anything that sticks out as a must play. It just has a huge cult following.
