Re: Gaming's Trippiest Moments.
I know many people think the game sucks, but I thought that the dream world in Tak2 was pretty trippy. The edges of the screen were swirly, you follow a weird ball of light, the whole experience made me feel a little high.

Re: Gaming's Trippiest Moments.
I'd have to say in Kingdom Hearts 2 when your fighting the final boss. That room is totaly out of wack. It looks pretty cool, but you can't see any walls or the floor so it kinda feels like your fighting on air. Nice effect. But makes your head spin when everything comes back to normal.

Re: Gaming's Trippiest Moments.
Trippy moment, hm? Well, first thing that comes to mind is in Chrono Cross, when Serge and Lynx swap bodies and you wake up in that "other" world that looks like it's been painted or something, and then Harle is walking up the walls and **** telling you you're not Serge anymore. I was like @_@ while watching that.

Re: Gaming's Trippiest Moments.
Has anyone ever played the freeware game, Yume Nikki? ...Yeah. THAT game is a dream but it feels like a big trip down to crazy town. I think the fact that none of the NPC's talk to you somehow makes things worse.
Also anything involving Mr. Saturn in EarthBound and MOTHER 3. And then there was Magicant in MOTHER/EarthBound Zero. And as everyone said before Moonside and Tatane Island. The special stages in Sonic 1 and 2 are... sort of trippy. I guess. The music for Nimbus Land's Castle ( while under Valentina's rule ) in Super Mario RPG is trippy to me... And finally, Super Mario Bros 3 never happened. The whole thing was a play. You can even see the shadows of the blocks on the sky... which means the sky is one big prop. My world was shattered when I learned that.

Re: Gaming's Trippiest Moments.
I remember I once played this game where you played as an Italian plumber who was on a quest to save a princess who had been kidnapped by a mutated turtle that could breath fire. You could jump seven times your own body height, fought against mutant fish, mushrooms, and turtles, and you bashed your head against bricks so hard that money came out.
Seriously, when you put it like that, that game sounds ****in' messed up.

Re: Gaming's Trippiest Moments.
My fiancee downloaded Portal: First Slice a few weeks ago. Her laptop's about six years old, so obviously it wasn't up to scratch. The result? All of the textures were flashing bright colours and GLaDOS sounded like she was having a seizure. That was pretty trippy.

Re: Gaming's Trippiest Moments.
GAH, YUME NIKKI.
GAHHHH. I couldn't even play through the whole thing. I read too much about it and freaked myself into a paranoia-ish state and kept getting freaked out that something was going to jump out at me. And don't even get me started about Uboa. |
