Most epic scene in a video game?

Here, I want you to post what you think the most epic scene in any video game is.


In my opinion, it's when Midna thaws Zora's domain in Twilight Princess. I love the explosion and the rushing water.

What's your favorite scene?

In Chrono Trigger:
When Crono gets iced by Lavos and Queen Zeal.

I haven't played many games that can be considered "epic" besides LoZ ones, so I can only give examples from those. Regardless:
-Opening the Door of Time and pulling the Master Sword in OoT.
-Seeing on the screen the word "GANON"
-Killing Ganondorf in TP. Actually, the battle on horseback until the end of the game is all pretty epic in my eyes.

Also, the part where Midna fights God Ganon is really epic. I seriously wish he was a boss.

"God Ganon"? I don't remember such being in the game o.o

The entire ending of Final Fantasy X was epic. The boss battle, the ending scenes, everything.

The scene in Okami were you heal the guardian sapplings those are seriously awesome

The whole closing act of Mass Effect was ****ing incredible, as anyone who's played it will tell you. From the moment you learn of the Reaper's true purpose to The fight through the collapsing Citadel to The battle with Saren and Sovereign. Even though it was a pretty easy fight, the way they handled it was pure cinematic genius.

I literally creamed my pants while playing that one. Absolutely cannot wait to see where they take the story in Mass Effect 2.

Any scene from Fire Emblem 10 (especially the execution), Ike Unleashes Aether in Brawl's SSE, Link's/Mario's Misunderstanding in Brawl's SSE, and in OoT when Link is knocked out cold by the shadow spirit in Kakariko. :]

All totally epic. x3

The opera and Kefka's final speech from Final Fantasy VI definitely rank very high on my list.

Vermire Cut scenes in Mass Effect (I felt these were far more powerful then the end game scene), in particular:

Do I kill Wrex, don't I kill Wrex?

Meeting Sovereign for the first time. When I heard she was heading straight for me I could have **** myself.

Ashley and Kaidan; who will live and who will die?

Showdown with Saren

Battle with the Final Colossus:

Argo's death helped set the mood for this one. The isolation, the finality, the last battle. Stunning.

Arthus' return from Northrend:

"What are you doing, my son?"

"... succeeding you."

And though some might be hard pressed to describe Subspace Emmissary scenes from SSBB as "Epic", there was some gleeful pleasure to be had in seeing Mario beat on Link for killing his hoe as part of an offical storyline. This scene made me smile too.

I'm sure I'll think of some others too.

Y'know, the part where Ganondorf turns into a fiery skull-god and fights Spider-Trident Midna and defeats her, then crushes the shadow helmet or whatever which accidentally frees her from her imp body.

That part, remember?

Hmmm. Well, pretty much every scene in Metal Gear Solid 4.
And the scene in Tales of Symhponia where you make a pact with Volt was pretty epic too.

No, Lucia almost gets executed, but then Ike and his mercenaries spring to action and save her. It was really awesome.

Don't you know I'd absolutely cry if Ike were to get executed? XD Well, not literally, but you know.

EDIT: Oh yeah, I forgot one epic scene. In OoT when Link gasps at Koume and Kotake fusing into one being. x3

Really? OoT was a good game, and all, but I really wouldn't describe it as epic. No massive battles, no esplosions, no pre-rendered cutscenes, a rather shallow storyline...

People hate me, but, hey? Who gives what some internet-loving OoT-Fanboy nerds think?

Pretty explosions and pre-rendered cutscenes do not an epic game make.

This is pretty high up there, but I dare say Ico grabbed me even more. Seriously, that final hour-or-so was basically what helped me decide between the two games.
