They could try as hard as they like, but fans would still cling to Phendrana simply because of the impact it had with them the first time. For God's sake, look at how the respective fandoms are with the original Resident Evil, Ocarina of Time and Final Fantasy VII.
Ice Bryyo was pretty, and didn't overstay it's welcome. It added another dimension of diversity to the already varied planet, that's a success by any measure.
Brinstar had a more rocky feel to it, whereas Bryyo had a greater 'jungle' feel to it.
Nevermind that Brinstar was in 2D and had a significantly less dynamic color scheme.
Norfair was like any volcanic region in the world. Bryyo's at least doesn't look like what you check out in Hawaii.

No ♥♥♥♥ I realise this. That was my complaint. Either a) actually have proper Metroids, or b) don't have Metroids at all. Don't have some ♥♥♥♥ty c) we'll have Metroids but they aren't important so we'll whore their danger until they became totally threatless enemies that serve as cannon fodder.

Well, thankfully a lot of people didn't care except Metroid purists.

Much like Ocarina of Time, Metroid Prime had the advantage that it had 3D environments being new to the series, which made it seem almost entirely new. By Corruption, that has faded a tad, seeing as we were then on our 3rd 3D Metroid.

That's letting a subjective viewpoint take over an objective one. And just all around being stuck in the past.

Nah, it's just a red filter.

Which is often associated with ex. fire, destruction, devastation, foreboding etc. A lot of negative things.

Bah, Veteran was barely any harder the normal mode, you can still abuse Hypermode on Veteran difficulty. On Hypermode difficulty, Hypermode is still fairly easy to abuse, except on areas without respawning low power enemies, which is usually resticted to boss fights and the Pirate Homeworld. Nice, but too late.

Yeah, I think you're full of ♥♥♥♥ or you just exaggerate the hell out of stuff.

Wtf? Ghor was kinda okay, but Omega Ridley sucked, man. Ridley used to be this awesome threat that just constantly spat fire balls and attacked wildly madly and didn't have any of this bull "shoot weak spot for massive damage". Super Metroid Ridley and Ridley-X, you just spammed missiles and charge shots and hoped like ♥♥♥♥ you didn't get killed quick. Omega Ridley kept flying off and giving me nice breathers, and had an easily accessible stun mechanism from which you could then damage him safely with. Omega Ridley was like the easiest Ridley encounter to date. Seriously, why the hell is his jaw magically weaker to plasma cannons than the rest of his body? At least enemies like Nightmare have an excuse.

Besides the fact that he's one of the most diverse bosses in the history of the franchise between the different phases of the fight and his God-knows-how-many attacks, a lot of which required you to do more than just step to the side to deal with.
Like the 2D fights with him, Omega Ridley made sure you never stopped moving, but unlike the previous incarnations it wasn't because he just stood in one spot and shot the same attack over and over.
