Nintendo Gamecube. I was going to pick the SNES, but I went with the GCN.

No, the Virtual Boy DID come out. And actually, there isn't really any bad games on the Virtual Boy. It's ratio of good games is pretty much X to 0 (X being the number of games on it) so in some respect it could be considered as a perfect library of games.

Anyway the SNES or NES is probably the best. NES has more great games than the SNES, but it the NES also has a lot of shovelware and crap on it too at the same time.

Re: What's you favorite Nintendo console?

So hard to say.
N64 had Perfect Dark, Super Mario 64, OoT, MM, GoldenEye, Donkey Kong 64, Resident Evil 2, Banjo-Kazooie, Paper Mario
The Gamecube had Tales of Symphonia, Wind Waker, Resident Evil REmake, Resident Evil 0, Resident Evil 4, Sonic Adventure 1&2, Mario Sunshine, Melee, Animal Crossing, Double Dash!!, Paper Mario: Thousand Year Door.

I guess I would have to say gamecube, but it's pretty close with N64

Re: What's you favorite Nintendo console?

NES is fun
SNES is super fun
N64 just had wicked awesome games
Gamecube had the best controller
Wii has a couple awesome games, but the other 500 fall flat...

& Virtual Boy was a commercial failure

The Sega Genesis.

...Fine, I'll pick from the choices. The N64 had the most of an impact on me, but I prefer the Gamecube overall. Melee, Metroid Prime 1 and 2, Pikmin, F-Zero GX, the list goes on.

Re: What's you favorite Nintendo console?

Why am I not surprised that the Wii isn't winning. It's the best one by far.

It has Wii games (lots of great titles), plays all GameCube games (lots of great titles again) and it has a great collection of older games for download. It also has a decent amount DLC for a console that's anything but online-centric.

I probably have to state that I'm not being sarcastic, which is a shame.

Oooo that's a toughie. I'd have to go with The Super Nintendo.
Although I sure do love me the 64.

Re: What's you favorite Nintendo console?

Wii for virtual console and Super Smash Bros Brawl, and backwards compatibility with gamecube games.

If I can't vote for the Wii because it has virtual console, then that is a thinker...

N64 had some great games on it. I spend nearly a year or so being amused by no games other than Super Mario 64. And then the Banjo Kazooie came along and was like Mario 64 on steroids, and then Banjo Tooie came along and was like Banjo Kazooie on steroids. I also couldn't put down Pokemon Stadium either. I HAD to win that surfing Pikachu, and all the starters. I want... I needed them! I still think the transfer pak idea is better than anything the wii has ever done to connect to the DS so far. Super Smash Bros was birthed here, and opened my eyes to other series which I previously ignored.

SNES on the other hand had Super Mario All Stars, and several classics that my Bro and I played together as kids, like Sunset Riders, Joe n Mac, and Turtles in Time. But I didn't give a squirt for most of SNES's better games until much too late in the systems life time ( And by that I mean until recently ). I can't beleive I missed out on EarthBound and Super Metroid, among other games.

I never was big on the handhelds, or the NES. Funny enough, I have the most NES games than any other system on my Wii VC.

Gamecube brought Sonic to Nintendo consoles... while some would say that's not a good thing, they can shove it. Sonic Mega Collection is love. Pikmin was also birthed with this system. I spent countless hours on Super Smash Bros Melee and The Wind Waker... This also had the Gameboy Player, which would allow for me to play my GBA games on the big screen, making Mario and Luigi SuperStar Saga much more epic. There's not much better to say about this system sadly.

In the end, I'd probably have to flip a coin over N64 and SNES.

That is if the VC isn't allowed to influence my vote for the Wii.

Re: What's you favorite Nintendo console?

Why wouldn't specific features of the Wii be allowed to be taken into consideration when voting? I voted for it because it has Wii games, plays GameCube games and has the VC as well as WiiWare. It also has the best menu interface by far (even though the only other system with a menu was the CameCube.)

Yes, you can vote for Wii based on anything, like the Virtual Console. But I didn't pick the Wii. I like it a lot, and I have Virtual Console games, but the Virtual Console will not have all the games each system offered back in the day. The Virtual Console has I think around 300-400 games right now, but each induvidual system had more than that much on their own. So you cannot even play every game you did back in the day. Plus, you have to play using a Wiimote, a Classic Controller, or a GameCube controller. I don't really complain about not having the original controller for the system I want to play on on the Virtual Console, but I sometimes miss it. And I sometimes miss the feeling on playing it on it's own console. But again, I don't hate that you have to use a Classic Controller, ect., and have to play it on the Wii. I don't hate that you have to do that, I just sometimes miss playing on its own controller on its own system. But you can still vote for Wii cause everybody still has their opinions. That was some of my opinion on the Wii. Not trying to bash the Wii, cause I do like it, but I just wanted to point that out.

Re: What's you favorite Nintendo console?

It's really hard to make a defining decision on which one I like the most because both the Super Nintendo and the Nintendo 64 gave some of the best games that I could ever imagine. Paper Mario was an astoundingly great game that I continue to never get sick of playing. The Zelda games have such a nostalgic feel to them that will always keep me coming back (even if I do get stuck on occassion). And Harvest Moon 64 is BY FAR the best one they have made still to this day.

At the same time, Super Nintendo gave it's greats too. I've played Super Mario World so many times I could probably play it in my sleep. Mario Paint is just faaaaaaar too fun not to play more than once (making squeaky music, ftw!), Link to the Past.. oh, how I love thee.

I just can't do it. It's a deadlock between the two.

Yeah, it was hard for me to pick between them at first because they both have really good games. The SNES has Zelda ALttP, F-Zero, Super Mario World, Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island, Super Mario All-Stars, Mario Paint, Super Mario RPG: Legend of The Seven Stars, Mario Kart, Mega Man X Series, Final Fantasy Series, Donkey Kong Country Series, there were so many. I know what you mean man.

I see what your saying, and it's a really good point. I just didn't pick the Wii for these few reasons.
1. My Wii broke (i'm taking it back in the next 2 days.) It's the only Nintendo console i've ever had break.
2. VC doesn't give me the retro feel that playing the old games do.
3. I played the other systems when i was pretty young and it all seemed new. Therfore, i seemed to enjoy them much more. So when i pick the system i liked most, I'm picking on the amount of fun i had with each system. Those games that were the best when i was really young don't have the same magic now, weather i'm playing on the VC, or the actual system. So I take into acount the good times with each induvidual system.

Also, i only have 3 VC games anyway.

Re: What's you favorite Nintendo console?

The Wii offers the entirety of Wii and GC titles, as well as the best of the NES, SNES and N64.

My best memories are with the N64 but taking the above into consideration, I'd be a fool not to say that the Wii is my favorite.

GameCube, by a tiny margin over N64. The clinchers are:

Controller
Smash Bros.
Metroid
and How Super Mario Sunshine was nearly as good as SM64.
