360 Soon to be pulling a Wii Sports?

Here's an interesting video showing leaked footage of a simple golf game using the 360's avatars.

I'm not sure I want my 360 to turn into a Wii, but it's getting closer and closer as the year goes on. Top this off with all of there recent advertising additions and it's looking like the 360 is going down hill. Oh dear.

Good thing between the two I want a PS3 more.
Also, I'm amazed at how blatant of a ripoff that is.

The 360 is my favourite console this gen by far, but I can't help but feel disappointed when Microsoft keep adding more and more crap to the system. I must say, recently, the PS3 is starting to have a little more of an edge. Price drop and / or slim announcement at GamesCom09?

Tough time for 360 sales I think.

Once again, Nintendo sets the bar and the other gaming companies follow it.

I don't know what else to say, the gaming market is expanding and the money lies in getting new people in with simple stuff like Wii Sports.

Sony's gonna go the same way as well, it's inevitable.

We're going to inevitably see games developed for systems go closer to what is offered on the Wii, but the difference is that there will be more of a balance between the cheaper, shallower titles and the more ambitious games because unlike the Wii, the systems will also contain more modern technology. Of course, this could just be Microsoft's next step in their continuing effort to sail the 360 off into the casual seas in its final years while they're meanwhile working on their next system.

Or their next system could be the slightly upgraded Xbox Natal!

Sadly, this is so.
That's the only reason why the Wii not having up-to-snuff technology bothers me. That's it right there.

Hahaha, the Xbox brand as a whole is a big ripoff.

Don't get me wrong, I love my 360. However, there is nothing original about it. This move by Microsoft was to be expected. They always chase after the generation's leader in sales with underhanded tactics.

Nope, they're not. Atleast with Natal Microsoft's actually trying to deliver a new experience, like Nintendo are trying to do, rather than a "better" one, like Sony are doing (Sony's Dildo Wands are just a "better" version of the WM+ and Nunchuk, which means that they aren't really doing anything new).

Second, I think Natal could be great - I'm not "lashing out" at all. I'll be buying it. However, this Wii Sports clone is something that I really don't need. 1. He hasn't really been wrong in terms of the Wii. He even correctly predicted the success of the Wii... before it launched.

2. That's how it starts, isn't it? If M-soft sees a little success with the casuals, then Malstrom's prediction will eventually come to fruition. If they don't, then Nintendo still remains market leader, which will eventually become a win-win situation for Nintendo, especially in their disruption strategy, which will eventually involve the core one way or another (one of the possibilities is that the casuals will become the new core, so yeah).

Even if the microsoft becomes casual people will by a 360 and 360 sports and never by another game again just like with the wii.

From what I can see, we're talking about a golf game that doesn't utilize motion controls (yet). The only similarity between this and Wii Sports is... well... the golf.

Actually, the whole simple visual demeanor reminded me heavily of it too. (And is it just me, or does Wii Sports actually look graphically superior to the 360's version, besides the avatars themselves?)

This has nothing to do with being inovative or doing something new, it has to do with games like Wii sports and the casual gamers.

That's where the money is, Nintendo has proven that for quite some time now, and where there is money, the competitors will go. Otherwise they can not prosper. My logic is flawless. The humans must be disintregated! Destroy! Destroy!

I'm not really digging the idea that developers have at the minute (aka casual games = games with **** graphics.) Just because they're simple and have easy to approach controls, it doesn't mean they have to look like crap.

Well, yeah, but I think that's because the Avatars resembled the Miis since the very beginning. This game seems to be only golf. Wii Sports was much more than golf. It's simply far from the same game, even if this one resembles the other a whole lot. I wasn't talking visual similarities, though I suppose that is a good point right there.

As for the graphics, I am very inclined to believe that this isn't anything near a final game (assuming that this will become a game at all). If that was the case, it would be the most boring golf-game yet.

Well, this will also be the case, unfortunately. When Nintendo made Wii Sports they went for a simplistic approach, but the game does by no means look bad. Other developers have failed to realise this and think they can get away with anything because Wii Sports was successeful.

How does this show that the 360 is going "downhill"? Nobody's forcing you to buy the game. Sure, it's a cheap ripoff of Wii Sports and it looks stupid, but there have been games like that before.

Microsoft wants Nintendo's audience badly.
