Nintendo 2010-Big year?!?

Ok so first lets imagine that all of the future Nintendo titles come out the expected release date. This would mean the in 2010 Metroid:Other M, Zelda wii, SMG2, and HeartGold/SoulSilver will come out.

This could be on of Nintendos best years.
Would you agree. Why or Why Not. What are some other years where the big N has produced multiple great games?

Also, what are some Xbox/Ps3 Exclusives expected to come out this year?

I recall last year being Nintendo's Big Year.

Nintendo's been relatively quiet since 2007 in terms of software. Most of their games from 08 and 09 thus far have been solid, but they haven't had a year that was absolutely loaded with big product since 07.

10 could potentially be that year, but it remains to be seen. Now if you're talking about their systems in general, then you could very much make the argument that 10's going to be a huge year for them between their own games and what third parties are coming up with.

It seems to be a re-visit to 2007, with Mario and Metroid once again heading the lists of anticipated titles. Zelda Wii isn't confirmed for 2010 (though I'd like it to be then) so I don't think we should put that there just yet.

Z-Wii: Are you kidding me? We already have two of Nintendo's big three in 2010, adding one more woulf probably leave 2011 pretty barren...

^ It could've been, had they released one or two solid games like Kirby or F-Zero along with Wii Sports Resort and New Super Mario Brothers Wii. :/

For it to be more accurate we should also imagine Metroid: Other M sucks and is nothing like real metroid, Zelda wii is just like twilight princess only with even more gimmick waggle, Super Mario Galaxy 2 is nothing but an expansion pack, and Heart Gold/Soul Silver is exactly the same as it was in 1999, only now we're not 10 anymore so it sucks too.

The sad thing is that would still make 2010 the best year nintendo has had in a long time.

Or you could say that Other M embraces Metroid's platforming-ish roots and is sure to appeal to the long-time Nintendo fans, Z-Wii, with it's extended development time, is sure to innovate the series, SMG2, while an expansion pack, is still an expansion pack to one of the greatest Nintendo games of all time, which has been confirmed to be more challenging than the first, and HeartGold/SoulSilver... well the original GSC were the last Pokemon games I actually enjoyed thoroughly, so...

Nobody really said much about Nintendo. The Wii itself, yeah, but that's because third parties actually told us about the games they were making. Nintendo waited forever to give us any hope at all.

Judging by the way he felt the need to bold and italicise Silver, and that he went back on his word in a later post, it's most likely a cheap shot at me.

In that case, get HeartGold if the word silver bugs you that much.

In general I'll likely be gaming even less next year than I am this year.

Because of that, since Nintendo's releasing Mario Galaxy 2 next year, you're damn right it'll be a big year, at least for me.

Next year will without a doubt be the pinnacle for the Wii (or at least rival with the launch of the Wii back in 2006)

Some time after its launch, aside from Super Mario Galaxy and SSBB, people just ripped on the "novelty" games that came with the wii(like sing it, and Naked Brothers Band) and the "water-down" graphics/ gameplay when comparing a game that shared consoles with PS3/360.

When we get the traditional Mario Games, new zelda game, new Metroid, and so on, Maybe the Wii will have its time to outshine the competition.

At the VERY least, it will get a solid 15 minutes of fame from hardcore Sony/Microsoft junkies.

Well, 2009's been a pretty darn good year for Nintendo's systems in general. Nintendo themselves don't necessarily have to be the only ones making games for these systems in order for them to have good years.

Wii itself has definitely kept things going, and even WiiWare and VC have been reasonably strong.

The concept of the "big year" is dumb. If games come out, just play them. That's it.

Zelda Wii wont come out in 2010.
