Which should I get? An Xbox 360 or a PlayStation 3?

I'm sorry if I am dissing any other Wii owners out there, but I am really, REALLY getting bored of my Wii. I don't even use it for games that much anymore. Just for Internet, and that's it. Compared to PS3 and Xbox 360, it isn't that good AT ALL. I still do like my Wii though, I'm not gonna get rid of it. I like getting old games downloaded on it every once in a while, and I'll keep it for just epic games like Zelda TP and the new one coming out, Super Mario Galaxy and SMG2, and Super Smash Bros. Brawl. The reason I'm getting tired of it is because...
1. The Wi-Fi sucks horribly compared to Xbox 360 and PS3. With all the Friend Code stuff and no online chat, no DLC except for Wii Shop Channel.
2. The graphics on all of the games suck so bad compared to the other next gen systems, even with Super Mario Galaxy.
3. No DVD player or Blu-Ray player.
4. No CD player.
5. Doesn't hold any type of media except with the Photo Channel.
6. No hard drive. Have to use it's internal memory and SD cards.
7. The games are SO freaking epic in every way on those systems. The online play, the gameplay, the graphics, every single thing!
I could go on much longer, but I wont, it's time consuming.

So the point of this thread is to give me some advice on which system I should purchase; The PS3 or Xbox 360?
I want you to give me lists of all things each system does and is capable of, and tell me your opinion on which one you think is the better buy. Do not base it on price though, I don't really care about that right now.

P.S. I'm sorry if any of you are offened by my statement on my opinion on the Wii. I'm still a die hard Zelda fan for sure!

Either get a PS3 or a PC.

This includes all three.

But yeah, I see where you're coming from. Brawl+ is the only reason my Wii isn't a paperweight... although my 360 serves that role right now (of paperweight, because I'm too lazy to go mod it)

A 360 is worthless if you have a decent PC, and you can build a decent PC for less than the cost of a PS3.

Homebrew is illegal I think, and I wouldn't use it anyways. I STILL probably wouldn't use my Wii as much.

And I don't like very many games on PC. I don't want to get one of those to play games on. I want a console. A PS3 or a 360. No PC.

And for the one who said Xbox 360, an said it was a no-contest, ,aybe it is the better system, but I want to know what each system does, lists of EVERYTHING each system can do. Not trying to be an a**, but hey, I just want what I ask for.

Well, if you want to play games like Team Fortress 2, Left 4 Dead, most other FPS's, and Oblivion FOR REAL, you'll have to get a PC, I'm afraid.

Obviously a PC.

But if you need to pick between the 360 or PS3 just answer this:

Do you want to pay to play video games online and have a console with a 40% failure rate?

If yes, buy a 360.
If no, buy a PS3.

Homebrew isn't illegal. I'm not talking about modding your Wii and pirating games.

It plays games and more. As soon as I get my network adapter to it I'm going to let it stream HD movies to my 42" TV. Same with PS3, really, but for a higher price tag.

hi i'm cool for basing my statistics of 2005 and 2006 lololol, if you want me to pull up old statistics a far higher percentage of PS3's were returned the first week.

If you're not interested in PC games then get a PS3, as most good 360 games are also on PC, so by extension you aren't interested in most 360 games.

Last time I checked, the 360 had more exclusives than its counterpart. :/
But yeah, I don't really know. I like both consoles.
Although 2009 is going to be a really good year for Sony.

The Playstation 3 is too expensive. :/ I'd go with the Xbox 360, personally.

360 has way more games in general than either the PS3 or the Wii. Unfortunately (like with most consoles) most of them are terrible, and even more unfortunately, they get less and less exclusive as you go up the quality ladder.

Microsoft also likes to say that PC/360 games are 'exclusive' 360 games. Remember all those games they showed at E3 in their '360 exclusive' section? Yeah, maybe one of those were exclusive.

Take a look at the 360's top 10 games on Metacritic. Of those games, only one can't be found on Windows. (And it's Halo 3 lololol)

But yet, it could also be that he just doesn't want a new PC, and if that's the case, I'd get a 360. If not (plus him being middle-upper class), I'd get a PS3, definitely.

Actually in 2007 the failure rate was around 30% and in 2008 around 10%.

Yeah, and they taught you in school that statistics work in the way where you add 30% and 10% between different years, you get 40%, I suppose?

At any rate, this is the worst possible argument I've ever heard. Microsoft replaces all red-rings for free. You have less than a 1 in 10 chance of going a week or two without a console, but does that really matter if the console experience is better?

I'm not saying it is better, I'm just saying that that argument is terrible.

Depending on where he buys his 360 from he could end up with one from a few years ago, with a 40% failure rate, microsoft never recalled any of their possibly defective consoles. I was stating the highest percentage it could possibly be.

Falcons still red-ring. It's necessary to get a Jasper if one wants a system that has a reasonable failure rate.

Wait for the Playstation 3 Slim. The announcement/release is only a month or so away. Why buy now?

And OP, if you don't like PC games, you don't like Xbox 360 games, simple as that. These days, every 360 game runs better on PC anyways.

Get a PS3. There's nothing wrong with a 360 on paper, but buying one is a very big gamble.

It's not reliable, it's loud; the accessories are extortionate if you want wireless online and rechargable controllers, and the online service costs money. (Granted Live is a good service).

I swapped my 360 for a PS3 some time ago. I've honestly never looked back. My personal opinion aside, either console would depend on what your friends have. If you have mates all with 360's then I'd go for the Xbox, you're online with people you know and you can swap games. Vice-versa for PS3.
