Then IS should turn them into more usable units. I only liked them because they were creative and had cool-looking animal forms, not for usability.

Agreed. They were cool as a novelty, and the laguz you got during the endgame chapters were amazing, but their potential wasn't ever fully realized. Still, I adored Path of Radiance for its characters and stories.

Oh I love PoR too.

I loved RD a lot more though. If I have to say any favorite non-lord characters, most would come from PoR and RD for sure.

What would also be a cool twist is if they had Elincia "leave" Geoffrey for Ike and go find him on whatever new continent Ike arrived in. Heck, I wouldn't even mind if Elincia just plain dumped Geoffrey. xP I'm just a fan of Ike/Elincia is all. Still, I wouldn't be mad if Ike married a new girl instead. He might even look cuter with her than with Elincia, who knows?

This is probably going to be a repeat of all the previous FE threads, but oh well.

Third game in Tellius saga gets a "no" from me. I like Ike (pretty much only because he's hilariously beastly in Smash Bros., so I don't even take him seriously), but he has as much personality as off-white ceiling paint.
Plus, though the series has had some of the more mature themes in recent Fire Emblems, the story didn't really interest me. The dialogue was pretty dull. I didn't end up caring about any of the characters (besides what I call the "FE Effect", growing fond of a unit not because of their actual in-game personality, but because they become one of your best units and you use your imagination to flesh them out).

I think it's time to move on to a new arc of games.
Or if they did that idea from a while ago where they combine units from all games into one, that would be cool to see.

It seems like a good idea at first (ah, Merric, Wolf, Sedgar, Marth, Roy, and Ephraim all in the same game), but it would be way too awkward if you think about it.

This is a small review I wrote about Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn back in 2008.

As much as originality, but also accomodating nostalgic feelings are wanted more and more by the gamers within the gaming industry these days, most of them simply fail to put out. As is it the exact same case with Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn. While the game basically is just a sequel to its predecessor known as Path of Radiance, it really feels rushed towards the end and generally feels like an enormous amount of copypasta from the original Nintendo GameCube RPG. Maybe because everything is the same, except for fewer NPC characters and maps.

You know the drill, tactical-turn based RPGs commonly are referred to as bad sex or cocaine-infused marbles. They're essentially the same, or at least, boil down to the very same. The biggest thing I detest about Radiant Dawn is that every time a character from your party dies, they NEVER return. That's presumably the ****tiest implementation of a life system that could possibly be thought of, probably because it is console-stompingly frustrating. I also never have any healing henchmen around when one of my party allies is in a near-death status whilst being surrounded by a large reinforcement of baddies with javelins and steel longbows.

Even while you're heavily outnumbered initially -pretty much remarking upon the fact that when playing on Hard mode- it's actually about IMPOSSIBLE to win your way through the battlefield without getting royally butt****ed by a level 32 Knight who can move 20 ****ing spaces each turn. Every attempt at trying to survive pretty much fails, unless you're in great luck and somehow your opponent is too retarded to actually attack you and decides to back down for a while.

In conclusion, I think Radiant Dawn could have done so much better. It had great potential, but eventually turned out to be scrap metal. That being said, it would also have been a lot nicer if the company would have polished the game more. A lot more, perhaps.

^I can't say how much I completely disagree.

Storywise i think Lollipop is on to something. However it panned out well enough for me. The gameplay was the same as any other FE game really. I think Lollipop just got his ass shoved into his mouth while playing part 1 on hard mode. There are parts of RD that are like pretty balanced in some parts and then turns to MINDLESS SLAUGHTER at the expense of your team. That can be frustrating and can turn people off. Oh well...
Not everyone agrees it was a pretty good game. (i loved it though)

It could have used more new characters. I really liked that some characters returned but all of them didnt have to. We could have done with out Devdan/Danved or Calill or well, you get idea. The new additions to the cast were pretty good (SHUT UP! I liked Fiona!) but there needed to be more of them and less spammy broken laguz royals.

I loved the storyline. I thought it was dark, epic, and totally cool. I loved how the game was in parts as well, which means it doesn't focus solely on one story, but more than one. First there was liberating Daein, then saving Elincia and stopping a Crimean rebellion against her, then Ike and the Greil Mercenaries aiding the Laguz Alliance in their war against Begnion, and then it all comes together in part 4 when everyone except some Begnion soldiers teams up to stop Ashera.

In fact, I loved RD so much it easily became my top favorite video game. I <3 RD forever. x3

But seriously, Hector + Lyn + Joshua + Wolf + Sedgar + Florina + Rebecca... Good gravy. (I'd mention some other popular ones like Sigurd, but I haven't played the Japanese games.)

Trust me when I say that people would be more inclined to take you seriously if you didn't do that.

And that was not just to troll/flame Ranil.
It's one of the many Internet pet peeves that push me to breaking point, especially if people want their opinions to be taken seriously.

What about Ike?

I'd say in addition to what you all are saying, Ike, Eliwood, Sain, Kent, Eirika, Seth, Soren, Boyd, Oscar, Titania, and maybe some laguz like Ranulf as well could be in. Besides, if it combines ALL the games, you can't leave out PoR or RD.

(Warning - Radiant Dawn Spoilers!)

I loved Path of Radiance and really liked Radiant Dawn, my only problem with the latter being its... complexity of plot. Don't get me wrong, it was a great story, and I didn't have any problems following it, but there was something about the adventurous simplicity of Path of Radiance--a young mercenary avenging his father's death, helping reclaim a kingdom, overcoming racial boundaries... It really was a beautiful little story, and yet there were plenty of mysteries to work in for a sequel. But the sequel's plot, though well done indeed, lacked the magic of PoR in my opinion. It took a few too many elements of PoR's story and jumbled them around in a way that was a little off-putting to me. The Apostle isn't really the Apostle and has a random sister in Daein who really is, Zelgius is really the Black Knight, the dark god is really a kind little girl with frizzy hair, Sephiran was really behind everything and is in truth Lehran, the bad guys are kind of the good guys, but then they're not, and then they are... I guess it's just a matter of personal taste, but does anyone else know what I'm talking about?

Yeah, I do. I understood everything though.
