What's your favorite Final Fantasy game? (Main series besides X-2 and XI)

Final Fantasy IV. Just a ****ing great story. Number 2 is a close second though, especially the Dawn of Souls version. Just. Amazing.

XII is my favorite, and I've at least attempted to play all of them so far except for VIII. Can't say most of the older ones hold my interest, since most of them really have pitiful scripts and the battle systems aren't especially exciting or intuitive as far as I'm concerned. III and X-2 get honorable mentions for their job systems. I really enjoyed X and IX as well.

I plan on retrieving my PlayStation2 from my mom's house soon and getting my copies of X/-2, XII, and buying VIII when I have the cash.

X-2 is my favorite 3D Final Fantasy...but that's probably just because I like watching them jump around. Not Paine, though. She's gross.

X holds a dear place in my heart though, as it was the first Final Fantasy I ever played.

pffft, whatever, Paine's hot.

I too enjoyed X-2 very much. Many don't want to give it a chance, but I thought it was an excellent wrap up to X's story, and the gameplay was great too.

I agree, X and X-2 make a great story combined together. The gameplay is really fun, but it's really hard to play it when you go directly from X to X-2, within a couple of hours. The combat system was so hard to get used to at first, after spending 40 and some odd on hours on Final Fantasy X.

I'm probabaly one of the only people who say this but III was always my fave.

No. Somebody actually took the time to photoshop hentai images onto a fake PS1 disc cover and case jewel and did it. I am not making this up.

I love III DS. ;-;

The music when you descend from the Floating Continent to the flooded world is both truly haunting and beautiful. And the background with the Flood of Light and the characters that join and leave your party make that game truly epic.

But I still like 4 and 6 better.
