Re: The Conduit - Yes or No?

I am still going back and forth about buying it. At times I really want to play it, then later I feel like eh.. I can wait. But I say get it, if thats what your looking for. Looks like a solid FPS for the wii.

I think in terms of experience it's debatable, Halo's online isn't really enjoyable once you start getting the ***holes and nutjobs on your back, or the eleven year olds screaming into your ears. Technically though, yeah, Halo is going to be ahead of Conduit no matter how they present it, unless they somehow retcon the whole thing into having the most ingenious online options ever seen on a console or something.

Well, friend codes aren't a very big issue with The Conduit since, if you want, you can pull friends straight from the Wii's address book.

Except those require 12 digit codes. I'd rather take the 8 digit friend codes over 12 digit addresses I don't use for anything.

I... don't know. I want to support games like this, because they are quality games that make the Wiimote into something useful, but the game itself just doesn't look like anything special, or indeed anything I would enjoy.

The design, something I really look for in a game, just isn't there, from the graphic design to the level design, to the character design. It's all so... stale.

I'm just repeating what I heard. Supposedly there is no lag, matchmaking is easy to set up, and it uses the Wii Speak thing. This is the closest the wii has gotton to XBL quality online so far.

It certainly is :> And with the hype surrounded by this game, I'm hoping there will be a fair few people online to play with too.

Re: The Conduit - Yes or No?

Yes, I just pre-ordered it today. All things are pointing to it being a good game, not a killer ap, but a good, well-produced game. I can get past how generic it is because I'm primarily buying it for the multiplayer, which is definitely impressive given how many options there are with it.

And if you are either; 1. Someone who ejaculated at Halo: CE, or 2. Someone who genuinely was excited for Blue Dragon or Lost Odyssey, you have no good reason to put down this title or any of the fans who are looking forward to it.

If nothing else it's a shooter on the wii. Looks to be better done than any of the others. As soon as I fix my wii I'll be getting it. One of the few none Nintendo games I've looked forward to on the wii

Actually, it's 12 digits for game-specific codes, 16 for Wii codes.

The thing is, The Conduit offers both game-specific codes on top of allowing you to take friends from the address book. So if you find the 12-digit code more convenient, go for it. If you have friends in your address book already, and they have the game, you're given the option to pull them straight from that without having to enter any more codes. The bases are covered.

What do Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey have to do with this game?

Well I loved Lost Odyssey and Blue Dragon, but I wouldn't put down fans of the Conduit anyway.

What are these different online modes? I haven't looked much into the game to avoid spoilers, but from what you're saying it sounds like there's a lot in there.

He's basically saying "don't put down underdog titles like The Conduit if you were a fan of other underdog titles yourself". I don't really get it though since The Conduit has been hyped a bucket load whereas the two RPGs were seen as comfort food, but I get the idea.

Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey were fairly generic, decent RPGs that primarily got attention because they were the first couple of RPGs to hit the 360 which previously had a complete lack of JRPGs.

Very similar situation to the Conduit, which is mostly getting hyped because it's a 'hardcore' FPS title on Wii, which is a rare type of game for the system.

I guess I fail to see my fail. I'm saying it's one of the few wii games not made by nintendo (as it's made by sega) that I've really looked forward to.

Re: The Conduit - Yes or No?

Adding Wii friends to the address book is barely different than adding them on any other console. It only takes an extra few seconds. And, once they're in there, it's permanent. And, if you don't really think you'll want that friend registered for anything besides The Conduit, you can just swap the game-specific codes instead.

Yeah, we all wish we could just enter usernames, but you're getting pretty much the best online options with The Conduit that you'll probably ever see on Wii. Just take that as a win and move on.
