But yeah, most of my choices have been said, mainly most Castlevania games especially the 2-d ones. Circle of the Moon and Harmony of Dissonance are perhaps a bit weitd for today's market. Simon's Quest, though, is very, very weird and wouldn't fare well on today's market at all.
The 2-d Mario games are also pretty ageless, especially 2 (Western version), 3, World and Yoshi's Island.
In a general sense I feel Majora's Mask keeps up better than Ocarina, Ocarina's much more for us weird people in between and sheep who have no will of their own.
But one type of games I feel stands the test of time somewhat the worst is the primitive exploration type, games such as the first two Zelda and Metroid games, as well as Simon's Quest, as I said earlier. It's like they never really got the hang of it until the SNES, which the advent of actual maps and real directions/apparent solutions really helped a lot. Super Metroid and A Link to the Past are really great examples of this.
Also, Actraiser. The city parts of this game are mayhaps a tad simplistic for today's sheep, but the action parts are absolutely top-notch to this day.
The Pokémon games also stand to this day as excellent and fairly deep rpgs.
my friend says Chrono Trigger and Super C, but I've played neither, so I'm just riding on his word
