Super Mario Galaxy 2 Announced

Remember when Miyamoto said that the team felt restricted while developing the original Galaxy?

Well, maybe Galaxy 2 is their chance to explore the concepts that didn't make it into the first game.

You have to remember, Mario being in space opens up for a lot of possibilities. I see no real issue with us getting a sequel to the first game if it means doing these possibilities justice.

I hope that this game is harder then the last one and features more explorable less linear enviroments like SM64 and SMSS.

I wasn't too blown away by the Galaxy 2 trailer. As people stated here, it looks exactly like Galaxy, but I also don't see that as a bad thing. Galaxy was great, and there is still more room for improvement.

If Super Mario Galaxy is Super Mario Bros. 3, then Galaxy 2 can be it's Super Mario World.

I'm pleased, I loved the first one and perhaps this will be even better.

A wonderful surprise! Unless something goes horribly wrong, this will be a must-own game.

I will admit that I still have yet to play Galaxy, but from what I can tell, the original Galaxy looked good so maybe this will too.

However I am a bit bugged that they didn't think of something more original. The space theme was good, but for only one game.

I'm serious, if the next Mario game wasn't in space, then it would have serious living-up-to-prequel issues.

Besides, play the first game before you say that...

The constant strive for reinvention is nice, but there are actually a lot of people who wish Nintendo would bring out a traditional sequel from time to time. I don't think the solid foundation Galaxy built has grown old and tired yet.

Oh I do plan to play Galaxy 1 one day. However the space thing in my opinion, is still really only fitting for one game, because it doesn't have to be a sequel.

The only reason it is a sequel is because of a reused theme plot device.
