Question Do you use guide books to help you complete a game?

I don't because I enjoy discovering the secrets packed in every game for myself.

I don't use guide books to help me complete a game. :3

My friends do, though.

Re: Do you use guide books to help you complete a game?

Nope, I like to discover the game myself. Getting stuck sometimes isn't so bad. Finding the way out yourself is more fun.

Re: Do you use guide books to help you complete a game?

No, it pretty much makes the game a waste of money. I'll go on gameFAQs for cheat codes after I'm done with the game, but that's about it.

Re: Do you use guide books to help you complete a game?

I'll use one if I need to.

I've use one once or twice while play Resident Evil. Honestly, I could only get eaten by a massive shark so many times before I was like "**** it".

And I don't buy the book. Gamefaqs, ladies.

Re: Do you use guide books to help you complete a game?

I always try to defeat a game on my own steam, but if I get stuck somewhere and am to the point of near psychological collapse, then I might give gamefaqs a buzz. Otherwise I do it myself.

Now, looking up after beating it, sure I'll get help for the extra stuff.

Re: Do you use guide books to help you complete a game?

If I really am stuck and I keep dying, then I use Gamefaqs. The only other time I use it is if I want to discover some secrets.

I use WikiHack when I play NetHack, but it's much more fun with WikiHack.

I use it if I simply can't get past a challenge or I have beaten the game and want to discover secrets that I missed.

Re: Do you use guide books to help you complete a game?

When I first started playing, I did use a guide. Now I only use parts of walkthroughs if I can't proceed with the game after hours of trying on my own.

I used them often in the past. I'd like to stop using them for future games.

Re: Do you use guide books to help you complete a game?

I use guide books when avalible. I sometimes get them as gifts with my games. I hate using them, but when I'm completely stuck or am trying to find some secrets in a second playthrough I use it. If I don't have a guide book I just use GameFaqs. Guidebooks are much more convienient though, since it can sit on your lap instead of trudging back and forth from the desktop to your game.

Re: Do you use guide books to help you complete a game?

On occasion. Not only depends on the game, but even if it were a game that I would use one on, I typically don't.

Right, so this was because Forte says he doesn't like himself. I want him to like himself a bit more.

Re: Do you use guide books to help you complete a game?

Never.

The reason you'll see me with a guide book is because:

A) The game was so great I wanted to get the artwork for it.

B) I got it for free.

They ruin the gaming experience.
