Team Fortress 2 Tournament on Escapist Quote:
Welcome to The Escapist's Team Fortress 2 Tournament sponsored by...Razer!
The Layout
This tournament is going to be 5v5 (5 people per team) with 2 different Rounds of gameplay. The First Round will be a Round Robin, where you and your teammates will play against other teams to try and get the best record across multiple maps. Games will be live from May 27th through May 31st. The 8 teams with the best records will then move on to the Second Round and the beginning of the elimination bracket. All match-up times will be referred to in Eastern Daylight Time.
How to Sign-Up
The sign-up form is here. You will see that there are 5 slots available for core team members and then 2 spots available for alternates. The person who enters the information necessary for the team will become the team captain. The team captain will be in direct contact with the tournament moderators for match-up times, issues and awards.
Each team member MUST have a valid Escapist account name and valid Steam ID. In order to participate, please enter your own Escapist account name and the account names of your team members in the form provided. Each team member will be sent a private message to their account asking them to be part of your team. Once your team members agree and each provide their unique Steam ID, they are locked into the team. If they decline, they will be unable to participate as part of your team and must find another. If a main team member declines to join your team, any alternate that has confirmed will move into a main slot automatically.
All users participating in this tournament MUST provide their Steam ID to participate. Failure to do so will invalidate that person prior to the tournament. Any team without 5 team members with valid Steam IDs will be not be eligible to participate.
Everyone has from May 18th to May 22nd at 11:59PM EST to sign up for this tournament. You MUST have 5 people on your team or the team will not be submitted. You DO NOT however need to have alternates if you do not want BUT alternates cannot be added once your team submission has been finalized.

Tournament Rules
Round 1 - On May 26th, we will be dividing all of the teams up into divisions. Each team will have to play X amount of games (dependent on how many teams have signed up but likely no more than 8 match-ups) in 5 days. The winners of each division (those with the best record) will move on to Round 2.
Round 2 - The Second Round will begin in the first week of June, with the day dependent on replay match-ups and potential disputes from Round 1. This will be a bracket round, in which winners will move to the next round and losers go home. The Final Match will be played in a "Best of Three" Round, playing 3 full different match-ups. The team to win 2 full match-ups first will be the Grand Prize Winner. The runner up game for 3rd and 4th place will be one match-up only but will be played during the same week.
