He's saying your fire team that you are taking a break from would be easily annihilated by an attack as weak as bubble. (probably gonna be ninja'd)

I hope the far left area (seeing as it's the largest place besides the Dragon Lake place) is a 'fun' place. There should really be more places like that in the Pokémon games. All we really have is the dumb Game Corner which is full of fruit machines.

It looks like a hell of a lot more mini-games are in.

Oh. Depends on what Pokemon is using the move, but whatever. It isn't like my fire team is meant to be competitive. Right now I'm training Pidgey, Rattata, Omanyte, Anorith, Roselia, and Buizel. Does anyone have a Light Ball they can give me? I can't seem to find any Pikachu in the Trophy Garden and they're the only way to get Light Balls...

I transferred a Pikachu from FR. And once again, it didn't take very long to find it in Viridian Forest...

The Pokedex looks alot cleaner as well.

So I got Shiny Gold yesterday. Right now I've just gotten my seventh badge. It's somewhat different. You have Silver of course, but it seems that you also have a guy taking Blue's role (collecting gym badges). I've run into a couple of other people that keep popping up. Our favorite Team Rocket members have made an appearance.

My team is:

Level 39 Typhlosion
Level 35 Magneton
Level 33 Kadabra
Level 30 Gyarados (The red one)
Level 15 Shuckle
Level 6 Paras

Betcha can't guess who I use HM's for?

The first three (sometimes the fourth) have made a pretty solid team. I just used my starter until Goldenrod, which is where I bought the Abra and raised him, and then got my Magnemite before the fourth gym. I'll catch some Ice type for the 8th and then begin training for the elite four.


The best thing about Shiny Gold is that you don't have trade requirements. I believe Kadabra will evolve at level 40. I think all the ones that just require trading evolve at that time. Not sure about ones like Scizor yet.

I bet everyone *****es and moans about how they're filling the game with pointless minigames, but I'm going to love them.

This game can't get any better. I wish for minigames, and minigames I have.

I had a file on Silver I was starting back up, but I'm thinking I should wait for these so it's more of a pleasant surprise when I play them instead of being burned out on Pokemon.

A Moon Stone evolves Scyther.

I guess no one has a spare Light Ball they could give to me? Blarg...I guess I'll have to go look for the damned yellow mouse once more in the Trophy Garden. Pikachu is starting to be annoying. >_<

I want a Light Ball so I can breed for a Pichu that knows Volt Tackle. I already have a Pikachu, just no Light ball. Only wild Pikachu in D/P/Pt have Light Balls. And that's only sometimes too. >_<

Dark Tunnel (Johto, duh. Near the start. There's also at least one entrance to it on the route to the east)

Ilex Forest
Burned Tower
Tin Tower
Lighthouse

...and possibly the thing at the end of the path north of Cerulean.

So that leaves: The thing west of Olivine City, The thing west of Cianwood City, Viridian Forest, and the thing in Saffron City.

Notable things I saw: The radio tower was shown on the new map in Lavender but not Goldenrod, the Ice Cave near Blackthorn City was not shown, and it appears to shown Cinnabar as an entire city rather than the mere island it was in GSC. Hard to tell with that last one though.


Oh, I just wanted to say that I doubt Cianwood is on an island. I have good reason to believe that it's just a peninsula, due to Johto being based off the Chubu region of Japan (although said peninsula is part of Kansai)

I have a Light Ball, but it's the only one I have, so I'm afraid I can't give it away.

GK: Shiny Gold is a fan remake of GSC.

Pikachu have a chance of holding Light Balls in any Gen II and beyond game. A Pikachu traded from Yellow to GSC will always have a Light Ball.

According to Bulbapedia, the chance of it holding a Light Ball is 5%.

I'm gonna go farm Pikachus until I get a light ball ololol.

Yeah, like I said, I was only pointing out differences in markings on the map-- I don't really remember what was there (or wasn't) in the game, especially in Kanto. I have no doubt there will be a sizable amount of content, though.

On the bright side, you have a 50% chance of ecountering one holding an Oran Berry!
