Crap, Sylvester is an awesome name, how did I not think of that instead?

I'd say the biggest change is the expansion of the island on the southwest corner of Johto.

Yeah, there does look to be a few more locations of interest on both regions' maps.

Isn't that the first Pokémon Legue? I can't remember.

Like I said before, it looks like Viridian Forest is back (By which I mean it more the a path of bushes), and there's some dungeon or cave in Saffron.

This looks to be a positive step.

No, the Pokemon league is in Kanto. If I recall correctly, don't you go to the same one in GSC?

No, that is, really, on the complete opposite side of Johto.

And you can kind of see little green blocks on the side that you can't see in the old map throughout the routes, one next to the city with the Steel Gym and lighthouse.

I think it was just the R/B/Y map / badges added in but without doing the League a second time or something?

Someone should clear this up x:

All that I see is something new in Saffron, possibly Olivine (it may be the lighthouse), and the island in Johto seems bigger, and it looks like the city is at the end of a route or two.

As far as I remember, it was just beating the league and then doing Kanto's badges. And then Red.

I don't see many differences between both maps if you ask me. :/

So, I've evolved some Pokemon. I have Persian in FR and I got Charizard, Typhlosion, and Blaziken in Platinum now. Woot. I'm also about to get Primeape in FR. I've taken a break from my fire team though, and started leveling up a few of the Pokemon I transferred to the Pal Park from FR as well as some ancient Pokemon including Omanyte and Anorith.

Well that's fine then. Honestly, I'm glad I can't remember anything much at all about G/S/C, because it's going to make HG/SS that much more enjoyable. Ahh, I can't wait.

I've circled all the differences I see on the map.
I don't remember the exact content of each town, though, so it could be that they added a point on the map for a place that existed (off the map) in the old games, but whatever.
