Pokemon Thread

I just beat Lance in Crystal because I am a fricking beast. This time, instead of normally levelling my team up to around 45-50, I had them at 38-42 so it would be more of a challenge. It was still easy as hell. Anyways, here are their moves.

Ursaring lvl 39 - Slash - Thunderpunch - Icepunch - Strength
(Monstrous attack stat tears through anything. The punches are only there for type coverage even though they are special attacks).

Pidgeot lvl 38 - Wing Attack - Fly - Gust - Quick attack
(Fast, hard hitter. Can take a surprising amount of hits and is my fly *****).

Donphan lvl 38 - Flail - Rollout - Earthquake - Strength
(Amazing tank. Takes tons of hits and dishes out the pain).

Jumpluf lvl 38 - Leech Seed - Synthesis - Sleep Powder - Headbutt
(Fast sleep inducer. Then seeds the enemy and Headbutts them to death.)

Suicune lvl 42 - Surf - Waterfall - Bubblebeam - Aurora Beam
(Another great tank and can hit very hard).

Typhlsion lvl 42 - Iron Tail - Flame Wheel - Quick Attack - Ember
(Great attacker, kills just about anything).

Their moves suck due to the first two generations having Pokemon learn sucky moves about every ten to fifteen levels or so.

I started replaying Crystal a few months back and then forgot about it until now. I really should get back to it

Yeah, same as last time I posted it. I haven't touched Emerald much lately. I've been wanting too much to add to my National Pokedex in Platinum. I'm using the Pokeradar, but I haven't found any of those Pokemon yet. :/

You should just hold off on playing crystal so it will seem more fresh when HG/SS come out.

Most of the cities in Kanto had so much potential to be expanded on/have more buildings and stuff, but it was wasted in G/S/C. Cities should really feel like cities....only Saffron and Celadon did that for me. And most of those houses were just fillers(the ones without doors I mean).. >.>
I wonder if Cerulean Cave will be open...and Seafoam Islands. That would be awesome.
In G/S/C, the music that was for Cerulean/Fuchsia city was replaced with Pewter's music. And Cinnabar didn't have its own music anymore either. That made me sad :<

So...I want to add a strong water Pokemon to my team. Right now, I'm deciding between Milotic and Gyarados. Which one's the better Pokemon to choose, do you think?

Smogon lists these as ideal sets for each:

Gyarados

~ Dragon Dance
~ Waterfall
~ Ice Fang / Stone Edge
~ Stone Edge / Earthquake

Milotic

~ Hypnosis
~ Recover
~ Surf
~ Ice Beam / Hidden Power Electric

I think I'm leaning towards Milotic at the moment, because of the combination of Hypnosis and Recover. Trouble is, Feebas is just so damned hard to find in Platinum! There are only four water tiles in Mt Coronet where you can find it (with only a 10-25% chance of it even showing up in these four), and they change randomly every day. D: On the other hand, Magikarp is everywhere.

Take the Milotic if you can evolve the Feebas. I have a Milotic, and it is such a good Pokemon. It's defenses are amazing, and its special attack is pretty good too.

Though you have to wonder why they didn't do this in DPPt. I was a little baffled there myself.

if your team has a lot of sweepers/attackers, then go with Milotic. If you have several stall walls then go with Gyarados.

I hope that they use Kanto's unlocked potential. For example, I would love to venture inside Cinnabar Volcano to find Groudon or something. Or have the safari zone reopened. Even go into the Kanto radio tower or Silph. The possibilities are endless.

Yeah, they really need to give more use to Kanto. I will probably get HG/SS because I always loved the fact that they at least included Kanto into it.

I'm curious to see how they'll remix the awesome tracks from GSC for HGSS.
