Re: Marvel vs. Capcom 2 coming to PSN and XBLA

They already addressed that. Street Fighter II is an SNES game and is only about 2MB in size, while Marvel vs. Capcom 2 is probably around 200 MB since it's a DC game (not to mention the fact that the added features will probably increase the size of the game a bit). That's almost half the size of the Wii's internal flash memory, and while that can be remedied by owning an SD card, Capcom probably aren't going to run the risk of pissing off the plethora of Wii owners who don't have one.

Some quotes from Christian Svensson (Capcom's VP of Strategic Planning) about why it won't happen:

Quote:
Marvel Vs Capcom 2 is seeing a re-release on all the latest home consoles, with the exception of Nintendo’s Wii. Bad news for Wii owners, but an unavoidable reality of the complex licensing situation surrounding the game, according to Capcom’s Christian Svensson.

“This is a downloadable play, not a retail play. We don’t actually have any retail rights on this project. And there’s no way to get anywhere near the Wiiware filesize limit here,” Svensson wrote, responding to a question in Capcom’s forums on why Wii owners are left in the cold.

Moments later, another fan asked if it would be possible to release this game on the Virtual Console, citing the relatively large Nintendo 64 games it supports. Svensson responds in the negative: “If I recall, the largest N64 game ever was 32MBytes (not be confused with Mbits)… so no.”

And Nintendo fanboys cried and slit there wrist, hugging onto their worthless console looking for a miracle.

Phazon Goron is right. It's all just special moves with simply no depth. Now Soul Calibur on the other hand, rocks your socks off.
Thanks mate. I'll "grope" you for that.
Can someone give an example that in a street fighter game you use, let's say, a two button combo:
Take Ninja Gaiden Sigma's Square, Triangle, Square, Square, Square,Triangle.
Its not a fighting game, I know. But that's what I think a combo is.
While in street fighter, there's nothing. you press some buttons for harder attacks but you can't link them for more moves.

What on Earth are you talking about? For the second video the combos start around 2:30 and get more intense as they go, and no, they are not easy to pull off, you need exact timing. I linked to Vega because he's a charge character which makes them even more of a challenge to execute, much more then button sequences.

What I mean is stringing button combinations together, not performing specials.

That is stringing combos. A punch into a hadouken into a shoryuken is a combo. Supers and Ultras have their own titles, but down forward punch is a combo. They are just directional input combos rather then stringing punches and kicks.

Re: Marvel vs. Capcom 2 coming to PSN and XBLA

That's just doing fast moves quickly.
And its all cancelling and stuff.
But really, I bought SF IV, HATED it, and traded it. If a fighting game is playable at least make it easier to perform "combos" or whatever.

Um, SF 4 does have combos. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jw0NS...eature=related

You can see "X hit combo" come up during the fight.

As for Marvel vs. Capcom 2, sweet! Too bad I don't have many friends who like fighters, otherwise I'd have SF 4 as well.

No it's not. They need precise timing. Everything must be perfect.

And on the matter of stringing kicks and punches; just because a fighting game doesn't allow you to hit "X, X, X, B, X" and have that combination of moves make the character perform a combo, doesn't mean it has no depth. It kicks MvC2's ass at depth. I can't even see your logic. It's clear that you know nothing about the Street Fighter games.

Re: Marvel vs. Capcom 2 coming to PSN and XBLA

Goron's just jealous because his favorite fighting game doesn't get crossover with a legendary comic book company.

Anyways, while I'm downloading a MVC2 rom and Dreamcast emulator (DO NOT ASK ME WHERE I GET THEM YOU PIRATES!!!) I'm listening to the music of the game. It's not bad by a long shot. I mean, I love jazz music so there could be a bit of bias in my part but I do understand why people didn't like the music:

1. Removing all the classic Capcom and Marvel Themes - People grew up with the Marvel and Capcom music and taking them away from the games is like taking away a good part of your childhood.

2. Slow, medium tempo jazz isn't really good for fighting unless it's uptempo, fusion, fast, and hard.

Other then that, the music ain't so bad.

Oh and I also like how people ***** about the jazz music in the game where:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M-4dHt8DDBU (Morrigan's theme from MVC)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LhMeXcQFpUk (Spider-Man's theme from MVC)

both are ****in' jazzy pieces but nobody *****ed about them. Then again...

You ****in' fanboys and fangirls and your fan service... (Ironic enough, I main Spider-Man and Morrigan...)

I beat MVC2 for the first time. My team were the following: Dan, Servebot, and Roll. I am not lying.
