Re: Lego Rock Band confirmed for X360, Wii, PS3, & DS

I've actually been playing it a lot lately and enjoying it. I've finally moved up to hard and I'm pushing expert on the easy songs which for me, a person who was frightfully inept at this game at first, is something.

I doubt that since it's carrying the Rock Band name, the gameplay will be that different from actual Rock Band.

This is basically going to be a LEGO mod to Rock Band and, hopefully, a $50 song pack, not a change in gameplay.
Sure, but the music is a huge part of the experience, and from what's been confirmed so far the set list sucks. Sure it's only 5 songs, and Song 2 is decent sounding, but I don't really want to pay for a couple of decent sounding songs, especially since these songs don't sound like a whole lot of fun to play either.

Now, if they were to pack this full of Johnathan Coultan, They Might be Giants, The Aquabats, DJ Lance Rock, Lemony Snicket, and any other awesome artists who are known for their kid-friendliness, as well as some G-rated classic rock (The Beatles? Bob Dylan?) I would be all over this game. Of course, I doubt that will happen.

And I was hoping they would do Lego Jurassic Park or Lego Pirates of the Caribbean or something.

My mom's going to be disappointed, as will I.

Re: Lego Rock Band confirmed for X360, Wii, PS3, & DS

lol! i can already imagine Disney Princess Rock Band!

you can like, totally create a female, and dress her up in ballroom clothing, and give her a sophisticated 'do, some make-up, some fancy accessories, some nice shoes, and then totally have her play an awesome guitar solo to some heavy metal song!

:3

lol! imagine "story mode" where all the main franchise princesses join together on this world tour of their musical talent, defeating the evil-doers with the amazing power of music!

we should totally tell Disney to do it!

So basically, it's Rockband, with Lego graphics thrown in and nothing new? I don't know, I won't buy it just for the Lego Graphics...

This is an awful idea. I was kind of hoping Traveler's Tales would make like Lego: Harry Potter ( That would be cool. )

Re: Lego Rock Band confirmed for X360, Wii, PS3, & DS

You know, I thought the idea for a sequel to Rock Band itself was tiring enough. With all the content downloads, it's basically the same thing.

GH is no diferent. I liked games up to GH3, then it got out of hand copying Rock Band and now I can't use a standard controller anymore...

I honestly don't think Lego's going to make a difference. Besides, what can they put that the other ones don't already have?
Well, probably blocks for notes, but that's not a good excuse for graphics.

Re: Lego Rock Band confirmed for X360, Wii, PS3, & DS

Why do they keep having to make separate games for this type of stuff? I mean, can't they at least make this like a $15-$30 downloadable add-on? I see young people play Guitar Hero and Rock Band all of the time at my school, so I don't necessarily see why they are doing this if it's geared towards younger people.

I'm not saying that Rock Band of Guitar Hero is bad at all, what I'm saying is: How will it be revolutionize in the future?

Re: Lego Rock Band confirmed for X360, Wii, PS3, & DS

In all fairness Harmonix is(well, was) a lot better about these spinoffs than Activision has been with the Guitar Hero franchise. From Harmonix we've seen Rock Band 1 and 2, and the only reason they did a retail release of 2 was to fix some of the glaring problems with the original disc.

-No online World Tour Mode
-Having characters tied to an instrumet

In the end it was $60 for a cleaner game and 84 more songs(Given the going rate of songs as DLC, 84 songs would be around $178 purchased individually), so I'm all cool with that. Now we have Lego Rock Band, PSP Rock Band and The Beatles: Rock Band all coming out this year. I just hope it doesn't turn into the GH franchise and get milked for all it's worth.

Harmonix did Guitar Hero: Rock the 80s and now this. Activision has done Areosmith and Metallica. They're about even, really, not that it's that big of a deal. (There was also Guitar Hero On Tour, but that was actually pretty cool.)

I forgot about Rock the 80s, heh. Yeah, that was pretty bad considering it was sold at full price, but Activision is still milking the GH cash cow pretty bad

-Guitar Hero: Aerosmith
-Guitar Hero: Metallica
-Guitar Hero: On Tour 1, 2, and 3
And in 2009 we're expecting:

-Guitar Hero: Van Haln
-Guitar Hero: Greatest Hits(A compilation of songs from 1, 2, and 3)
-Guitar Hero On Tour 4
-Band Hero
-Guitar Hero 5

I'd say HMX isn't quite milking Rock Band at the same frequency yet.

If they manage to make this into something more than just a Rock Band dressed up as Lego, I'm going to be very interested in how they pull it off.
