We're not forced to use the items. I'm going to turn them off in most of my matches if my opponent agrees not to use them.

Eh? Items are allowed? Question!: If one of the contestants doesn't want items during a round, does keep items off, or is it a whoever-controls-the rules-for that-match sort of thing?...
