Re: Nintendo of America sucks
Not an awful lot, so far as I know. Really funny thing is that people in North America are complaining about this and saying NoA sucks, but you know what? They should try living in Europe for a few years. That should shut them up.

I do not really mind whether NoA decides not to release and translate a Japanese game. There are plenty of good games out there, that Nintendo has to offer...or maybe I’m very easy to please as a customer. I do not get too technical when it comes to games, like whether the graphics are good, whether the voice acting is good etc. If there is a game not going to be released to the EU, I just look for another game... |

Used to be everyone's favourite guy in the business, but is now widely accused of wrecking his own cash-cow franchise. Or something to that effect, I'm guessing.

Hmmm I understand some gamers are disappointed that Fatal Frame is not going to be released but...look at the bright side. I mean there should be good games out there...right. =)
Like the game Conduit is coming out soon. Nintendo marketing strategy has changed quite a lot. I think they want to focus on new things though they must be careful not to upset gamers. |

Re: Nintendo of America sucks
Pretty much what Trioth said. Someone with Lucas Syndrome is typically who everyone used to respect and adore, usually the head of a major organization, with a large cult following. When the disease takes over, the victim turns his organization/project/life's work into a giant scheme with one purpose: making giant loads of money. This causes the victim's fans and cult to dwindle (although the extremely loyal may remain, such as the people who think that that stupid Star Wars cartoon show isn't a worthless piece of garbage).
Currently, there is no known cure for George Lucas syndrome. Telling the victim he or she is an absolute Jackass during the early stages is known to work, but only in rare cases. Psychological scientists the world over are trying to find a reliable cure, but no progress has been made (as of late).

Re: Nintendo of America sucks
Apparently the Clone Wars cartoon was actually really good.
But what, exactly, has Reggie done? He doesn't make games. He doesn't even decide what games get made. At most he decides what games get brought over here.

Re: Nintendo of America sucks
From what people have said here, it seems people hate NoA for not releasing Fatal Frame, not localizing Mother 3 (which, despite how much I want it to come out here, I actually agree on this decision), for censoring certain things (which is more America in general's fault than anything else), and for "ignoring the real gamers" (which is not NoA's decision in the first place).
I do have to say that so far their Virtual Console and Club Nintendo offerings are sometimes scant at best. (At least they finally started doing Animal Crossing DLC.) I have to admit, though, I wish they would take more localizing risks. Capcom, for example, came out of nowhere with the first Ace Attorney years after it came out in Japan, and despite a rocky start, word of mouth actually made it a completely viable series in the US (and, eventually, around the world), which is why each game is being localized all over the place. But the Elite Beat Agents risk, unfortunately, seems to have failed. Shame. But they do what companies do. They try to make things look as good as possible, even if they don't ultimately deliver. We can only hope that if they continue to do this, they'll eventually get enough of a negative response that they'll reconsider some strategies here.

Re: Nintendo of America sucks
Reggie is President of Nintendo of America. He represents Nintendo and naturally, when gamers are not satisfied with what Nintendo has to offer, they blame Reggie even though it may not entirely be his fault. Since Reggie is always in the media eye, it is easier to blame him. Well there is of course Cammie Dunnaway lol...she is too quite unpopular. |

But they could have at least brought the first GBA one over after bringing over the second, and maybe ported the SNES ones to the GBA or released them on the American and European Virtual Console.

No one would buy an SNES FE game, save on the Virtual Console. Quote:
It would be nice to see an FE compilation, though.

This one? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_cAKq...x=0&playnext=1
Because that series was pretty awesome. As for Reggie. I don't really hold much of a grudge against him, he is a businessman. In it for the money, not because he has a love for games.

The 2D animated one was awesome. The 3D one is a discontinuity.
