Tales of Vesperia Coming To PS3, Tales of Graces (Wii) Announced

Finally, we get a name for the next main Tales game for the Wii: Tales of Graces. Not much else new, but still news indeed.

The bigger deal for me is that FINALLY Tales of Vesperia PS3 has been confirmed. Worst kept secret ever. I HATE MONEYHATS.

I've already bought Tales of Vesperia for the 360, but I think I'm going to be double dipping to get the PS3 version with all the extras, including the new character in the scans, and to support the system.

But YAY! FINALLY TALES OF VESPERIA PS3!!

Pppsh, tales of vesperia needs to go home. Tales of Graces, yosh! I've been dying for any new info about the game. A name is a good start, so now I can google info much easier. But eh, I'm geussing I wont get anything else till the tales event in a couple months, or E3 itself. That its, unless that japanese screenshot says anything besides, "WII, AWSOME, WII, AWSOME TALES, NAMCO, BLAH!" You have any translation skills Mr. Wonderfull?

Sounds cool, except that Winter Japan release. Most likely won't be seeing it in NA until 2010. Oh well...

Oh, i soooo badly hope this isn't a crule prank. I've been waiting so long to get ToV. Yay!!!!! I hope Tales of Grace, again, providing it's not a sick joke, is a good game. The first WII tales game was awesome.

Tales of Grace is the official title of Tales of Ten for the Wii.

Presumably more extra content (not to mention the OMG MORE PRODUCTION IG CUTSCENES) would make the deal that much sweeter.. hmm I think I can finally mooch off a few friends who have PS3s and finally play Vesperia

I wonder who the character designer that is... it looks a bit like Inomata Mutsumi but I'm not sure.

Hooray! I've really wanted to see her artwork in a full 3d title for a long time.

Agreed. I prefer her style to Fujishima Kōsuke's, and it saddens me that games featuring her art never seem to be quite as popular. But I think her art is absolutely beautiful, especially in Tales of Eternia and Tales of Rebirth.

While she has produced a lot of character designs I am not so fond of, she always creates such exquisite illustrations of them, that they are always a joy to look at.

Personally I think Fujishima;s character designs are vastly overrated, and he never seems to bother making any illustrations of them.

Rebirth's artwork is probably Inomata's most gorgeous. Her and Miyako Kato are my favorite character designers, in terms of originality and illustrative content.

Tales of Grace uses SS-LMBS which is Style Shift Linear Motion Battle System., you can assign two styles to yourself and then swap in battle. Apparently there is a seamless overworld as well.

Seamless overworld, huh? That would be a step in a new direction for the series. And with SS-LMBS, what are we talking here? XLMBS or just a new take on the traditional LMBS? Going to research.

They talk about the worldview, the main character and the battle system here. I can't really be assed to translate the story stuff, since it's Tales ****. The battle system is SS-LMBS which stands for Style Shift Linear Motion Battle System. You can equip skills of two different styles, one on the A button and one of the B button. This allows the player to customize the character to use two different styles in battle at the same time. They also talk about being able to sidestep around an enemy you're in combat with, allowing the player to move around the enemy in 360.

The game's anime opening and FMVs will be by Production IG as usual, and the game is also compatible with the Classic Controller PRO slated to be released this Summer.

Oh god. That sounds like blindsides. Please don't just copy the lame parts of Star Ocean IV, please don't just copy the lame parts of Star Ocean IV.

I'm so excited for this game. Finally, a Wii game that I can look forward to! It's been so long!

More ToV info. You can see the designs for the ToV movie too. They mention that aside from the new playable character, the main scenario of ToV for PS3 will be fully voiced now because they have the space. They also mention some sort of tie-in content between the ToV movie and the PS3 version of ToV, but did not go into details.

That's huge, and sweet. Step one to pushing me over the edge.

Looking at ToS PS2, I'm pretty sure "new elements" just means more costumes, some new skills/artes, each party member now has two Mystic Artes, and a new boss or two.

The amount of new dialogue lines added is nearly the same as the original amount existing in the 360 version.
A new promotional video showcasing the new additional character will be available on PSN in April.

Other purported additions:
New supporting scenarios (sidequests?)
New exclusive content in PS3 Vesperia will be linked to the Tales of Vesperia movie.
