Re: Psp or Ds lite?

^ What he was saying is that extra features = inferior, which is incorrect. I don't think features are the most important part of a console, I just see them as a bonus. However, they're still nice to have. For example, It's nice to be able to watch DVDs on my 360, instead of having to go use the DVD player downstairs or watching them on my laptop's smaller screen.

The point I'm trying laboriously to get to is that extra features =/= "Inferior" or "Not a gaming console". However, if it doesn't have features I don't mind, as long as the games are good.

I have both, actually my sister owns the PSP. Ive played many games on both systems. I'd prefer the DS, it has more fun games.

And I totally agree with this. Which is why Gamecube is still at the top of my chart. I'm not saying that having lots of other features makes any console inferior to others. But nowadays people seem to be focusing more on making their consoles into multimedia centers, not gaming consoles.

But if a person thinks that, it's not a reason to call them an idiot.

Re: Psp or Ds lite?

I prefer DS over PSP.

I like the touch screen, and I think it has better games overall.

Re: Psp or Ds lite?

I own both. As far as games go, I own slightly more PSP games and I probably use the system more in general. There are future games coming out for both that I want, so I say that I like them both.

What he said.

The PSP and the DS (in all of its iterations) both have things they are good at; I'm not much of a movie person, but I'll often use my PSP as an Ipod to listen to music while I'm working, while I use my DS strictly for gaming.

In fact, one day on my way home, a guy disses me for playing my DS, saying that the PSP is better. He then goes on to state how a PSP can be modded to have a touchscreen as well, which is a totally ridiculous argument. (You can mod a toaster into an MP3 player if you figure out how!)

I seem to notice that my brain cells deteriorate on a weekly basis in conjunction with posts along the lines of "lawl the psp has no gaems and 2 many features!!1" I think that's due to the rate at which we get these threads.

Re: Psp or Ds lite?

In terms of actual hardware? PSP, hands down, no questions asked. Software? Neither appeal to me that much, so I'm leaning towards the PSP. Although I will admit the DS seems to have a more wide selection of AAA titles.

Re: Psp or Ds lite?

I have both, DS with flash cart and PSP with custom firmware. To tell the truth I don't really like one over the other. DS has alot more games I enjoy, however PSP has had games that kept me playing alot longer and I enjoy being able to read ebooks on it.

And I'd just like to mention that emulators for DS don't have that great of compatibility, less than the PSP's in my experience anyways. And the DS can't emulate N64 or GBA. (PSP can emulate GBA and a N64 emulator for it is in beta.)

PSP. It speaks to me. Though in terms of paper weight capabilities my DSLite far outshines my PSP.

The DS doesn't really need to emulate GBA though, since it has direct backwards compatibility (Except in the case of the DSi).

DSi still has the GBA hardware in it, as it is part of the actual DS. It just doesn't have the Slot 2. So in other words, flash cards.

I think that the psp is better, than the DSlite because the upgrade for DS was a Laugh.

Re: Psp or Ds lite?

In my opinion (however biased I may be), I have found people to use the PSP more as an MP3 player than a gaming system. If I see a person with a DS, they are playing it. If I see someone with PSP 7 times out of 10 they are changing songs.

This is just a simple observance on my part. The PSP does have a fine library and is a good handheld, but I still would take the DS over it any day.

That's a good point. When i buy a games console, I want to buy a games console, not dozens of other things besides. A few small things, good, that's okay, but too many other accesories and you don't spend much time using the games, just the accesories.

That's not a very nice thing to say to someone who's just expressing their opinion.

Tott thinks that the Gamecube is the best console ever, simply because out of the recent consoles, it's the only one strictly meant for gaming. It has the ability to play games and that's it. No other "cool" features or abilities.

Is Tott an idiot too?
He certainly is not.

Re: Psp or Ds lite?

DS Lite easily, it includes a lot more original titles, plus newer ones to keep the platform fresh.
PSP games are just weird.
