Fire Emblem! =)

I got fire emblem: The sacred stones when my parents (bless 'em) sprung a surprise second hand game on over the phone and I didn't say 'Breath of fire' P;

Anyway! I'm enjoying the game -- and although the dialogue honestly makes me want to feed barbed wire through my gut and floss myself to death, I enjoy the gameplay.

I've been playing strategically -- only intensively levelling Ross, Vanessa and Joshua, 'cause they're awesome -- and have just reached the final boss.

Which is a demon that takes up half the room, summons hoardes of the hardest non-bosses around and can kill any of my units within two spaces of him with one shot. It is physically impossible to beat this guy, aside from a run of suicide attacks -- which I am not prepared to attempt.

What is the point of allowing me to play through the game strategically (I have never lost a unit) and allowing you to revel in tactics when you cannot beat the final obstacle unless you have some kind of tank character? It's almost like letting you play through pokemon with a bulbusaur and then going 'Haha! In fact to reach the Elite four you need to have picked Squirtle. Have fun.'

If there was something the matter with my style of play, how come I've made it to the final boss? Why set up a bunch of limitations that have never been heard of before -- and you physically cannot go back and change? (because you cannot leave the final scenario to train)

I find it most unfair.

I spotted a copy of FE7 in Gamestop today. My mom gave me money and I was able to buy it. Granted, it was more expensive than before, but probably because of the quality. To those who have been pestering me to play it *cough*Golbez*cough*, I hope you're going to leave me alone now. >.>

I'll admit, I'm enjoying it so far, but I can't yet say how much I like it. I'm only to the second chapter. However, the fact that you're a unit yourself here is pretty cool, as I feel like I'm right in the game. All I can say for right now.

Fe7 is veerrrrry good.

FE7 is without a doubt the best of the newer FE games (Although I haven't played Shadow Dragon yet).

I disagree. I don't think it's as great as you make it out to be so far. In fact, the only thing that has impressed me so far is the fact that you're a unit yourself in the game.

Oh, and I'm at the 7th chapter now.

So I'm playing an hack/mod of Fire Emblem 4. FE4 is known for having the Lovers System where units can fall in love, have children, pass money, and boast hit and defense. Well, I didn't know I did this, but I made a brother and sister as incestous married couple of the second half of the mod.

My first unit lost just HAD to be Lyn...damn myself for not realizing how many enemy guys had lances. She's got a pretty cool critical hit though. Kinda reminds me of what she does as an assist trophy in Brawl, but not exactly. I want more Eliwood though. He made a cool first appearance. A guy walking in the room with a girl in his arms after he's saved her = win. I already like him for that too.

Hector made a brief appearance already too, I believe. Wasn't he the guy in the one house saying Eliwood was late for something?

Lyn's story is only the tip of the iceberg, and really it serves as an introduction to Fire Emblem (Due to the fact it was the first FE game released outside Japan). Once you get to Eliwood's story (Or Hector's, which is available after you beat Eliwood's), the action really heats up.

On a side note, Intelligent Systems decided that Europe wasn't being screwed over enough when they released 7 there, so in the most erective dick move, they removed the extended epilogue, several songs, and changed Renault's name to Renaud for no apparent reason.

Well, I'm looking forward to Eliwood's. He already got me liking him when he appeared with Ninian in his arms lol.

If Eliwood impresses you, wait until you meet Hector. The dude's a freaking beast of a man.

We'll see, Golbez. We'll see. And I know Ike was inspired by Hector, but that doesn't mean anything. (just saying)

Hector is undeniably one of the best lords. With ease.

Hector is the only lord who comes close to Sigurd.

I also think Nergal is one of the best villains the series has seen since Manfloy.

In your opinions. Mine is different and I think Ike and Ephraim are the best so far.

Well that's because those are like the only ones whose games you've played.

Weren't we just talking about me playing FE7? I've seen a lot of Lyn now, and she's alright. I've done Eirika in TSS and she's meh. Micaiah in RD I do not like at all.
