Not as much as older systems, that's for sure. Wait 'til the Wii becomes old and gray, then come and talk about Radiant Dawn's standing amongst. And if you still haven't played FE7 and complain about not being able to find it in stores, that's what emulation is for.

Right over your head.

The Wii hasn't been around for even three full years yet, while all of the other systems lasted at least six or more years with regular games being released for it. The simple truth is that Wii's library is currently much smaller than those of the other consoles, so RD has less competition than other FE titles.

As it is, Wii is just beginning to develop a true collection of great games, so up until now RD hasn't had too much competition merely because the Wii had such a lackluster 2008.

Each Fire Emblem game has something new to add, so I would not say the game is lacking any original ideas.

Yeah FE is one of my favorite gaming series, only second to the Phantasy Star Series

I thought Radiant Dawn was pretty decent, although it's the only FE game I've ever played. I enjoyed it. I'm yet to beat it though, and getting cheap Game Overs doesn't help :/

Gamestop will eventually have it again. I will wait until then because I'm not THAT desperate to play it. Shadow Dragon is my main FE desire right now.

I only went to the Serene Forest main site. It has a good collection of FE data.

What kind of RPG is it? I'm wondering if its worth getting the new DS game, but i really hate JRPGs usually, i bought FF4 a while ago and i just can't bring myself to finish it, when i was told i only had half the crystals i gave up.. its just not fun enough to know the end of the story.

Is FE a grindfest with very minimal interaction like Final Fantasy or is it completely diffrent and fun?

No, it's not a standard J/RPG. It's a strategy RPG, which means you only 'play' battles, and then there's cutscenes. The game is in levels, and each level has set opponents you have to kill. You keep the same party throughout, and you really can't grind in the game. You just have to kill everyone, but put your people in bad positions and you're gonna lose them. Forever.

I bought Shadow Dragon on Tuesday. I'm not very far yet (Chapter 4) but I like it. I really feel like this game should have a quicksave feature; doing a chapter multiple times just to die again is annoying. Still, I'm having fun with it and looking forward to the rest of the game.

I thought all DS games like that had quick save? It's usually only for when you need to turn the game off though. It's not like you can revert to how you were half way through a battle if you mess up.

Some games, such as FE4 and 10, have a mid-battle save feature (Not suspend), which helps if you screw up. I dunno if Shadow Dragon has it because I haven't played it, due to my DS being broken.

Is 10 RD? That's the only one I own. I heard in either PoR or RD, you can only use that save feature if you have it on hard. That kinda sucks.

10 is RD, correct.

And in RD you actually can use the save feature on anything but hard. On hard it is replaced with the suspend feature, which is really just a quicksave feature which lets you stop playing and then pick up your game where you left off.

Oh yeah, you're right. I got it the wrong way around. So wait, I've been playing through and dying mid battle all of these times, and I could use that save thing? Baahh. I still have a long way to go anyway I guess. I'm up to the part where you're on a horse mount battling in the clouds.

And actually, PoR has the suspend, which made certain things tough for me, but I enjoyed the game a lot anyway. RD was better with the save feature, but it still had way harder chapters. Good lord. o.o

EDIT: Oh, and Jon Snow, it's a strategy RPG like GKANG said. If you're new to FE though, I recommend you start with either Path of Radiance or The Sacred Stones first. PoR has a nifty tutorial feature that shows you the ropes while Sacred Stones is just easy.

All of the games had suspend sans Seisen and RD (Except on hard), which had battle saves.

Duh. I was only clarifying that PoR wasn't the one that had the save feature.

No. It does not.

I get what you're saying Ranil, about which game to start with, but I've only played RD and I was fine. I just watched a review or two, accepted that it was pretty hard and saw I have to keep units alive, and I was set. I'd like to play PoR though some day, for the story.

I started with PoR and I loved the game so much I wanted more FE. I fell in love with RD and I've enjoyed TSS too. FE became my favorite series real fast lol.
