Re: Should I trade in my Wii and games for a Xbox 360 and games?

I own my Wii for 1st party titles.

- Twilight Princess
- Mario Galaxy
- Smash Bros. Brawl
- Super Paper Mario
- Mario Kart Wii
- Metroid Prime 3: Corruption

Coming:
- Pikmin 3
- Punch Out Wii
- Zelda Wii
- Next Mario game
- Sin & Punishment II

And Virtual Console.

I don't know what to think about you guys ignoring those games. All those games are and probably will be AAA titles to me.

Re: Should I trade in my Wii and games for a Xbox 360 and games?

How much of a "good trade" it is all depends on the kinds of games you like. Wii offers a completely different library of titles than the X360. If you like one more than the other, then you should always take the path that better suits you.

This is exactly the kind of thing that shouldn't be said. Yes, the X360 has more AAA games, but if those games aren't in the interest of the player, then what does it matter? It's the same in the Wii's case, where that system relies on an owner who appreciates a more party-oriented console.

The worth of a gaming system is only dependent on what its owner wants to get out of it. This is more the case now with X360 vs. Wii than with any other two choices of consoles in the past, since these two are not just different, they're vastly different.

Maybe you should have/get the one you think you will have more fun playing on, and what you will use more often? Whatever you decide....

I barely touch my Wii anymore. I've been enjoying every moment with my 360. Although if you trade it you'll be missing out on the new Zelda.

I'd say stick with the Wii personally. It's a more popular item, meaning more people to connect while playing Wifi games! However, i do admit there are a lack of good games for it though.

This statement is false. The majority of people buying the Wii are casual gamers who don't care for online play. You'll be lucky to connect to anyone with the Wii's ****ty online. The 360's online is superior in every way.

Re: Should I trade in my Wii and games for a Xbox 360 and games?

Hmm... If you're not interested in the Wii's Library, I'd honestly recommend selling it and buying a PC. If you already have a decent gaming PC, I'd go for a PS3. The 360 just doesn't have a great library when you consider how much of it's library is available for PC.

If you're interested in online gaming there's no point to even owning a console. They all have terrible online services, and the Wii has the worst by far.

Oh, and, don't trade it in, sell it used on eBay. I think you'll make more money this way.

Tip: Wait for a shortage/ sales spike.
I agree, don't trade it in. If you trade in your games/system you're really hurting the industry, as the developer doesn't make any money on the future sale of that product.

If you sell it for profit on Ebay it only means that there was more demand than supply, so you're not cock-blocking Nintendo, or whichever product you decide to get rid of.

You'll also get more money on Ebay.

Re: Should I trade in my Wii and games for a Xbox 360 and games?

Don't decide based on online play. That's one of the most overrated aspects of gaming in general.

I mean, yeah, I have an X360 and I enjoy the XBL interface for the little things it offers, but if you focus just on the online for a system, then you're taking focus away from the games themselves. As most can agree, the X360 does have the best online, even though you have to pay to actually do online playing but that online won't matter when Sony offers the same basic thing, minus some features and may also offer the exclusive content that the customer wants. If a person has no care for online at all, the Wii certainly isn't a bad option since it offers some of the worst WiFi play you'll ever experience, even though games like Kart and Smash are still fun online.

However, the downloadable aspect of the consoles' online components really is up for consideration. XBLA, PSN, and WiiWare all have compelling software for download. And the Wii even has the Virtual Console if you don't mind paying a small fee to play older games. I've played the services and they do offer different experiences, so one shouldn't consider them all the same. You won't find Braid anywhere else than XBLA. You'll only find World of Goo on PC and Wii. If you look for Wipeout HD anywhere else other than PSN, you'll be disappointed. Etc.

Re: Should I trade in my Wii and games for a Xbox 360 and games?

I say no. An XBox is worth more than a Wii, but that's a lot of games to trade in for a little more.

The XBox has worse hardware and the Wii has the VC and an upcoming Zelda.

On the other side, that's more games to encounter...

You could do it and that would be fine but I would not.

If you are tired of the Wii, get rid of it and get a 360. With a few good games and Xbox live, its hard to get bored.

For consoles? Yeah, I agree. Console online is far too limited, and generally not very good.

Compared to the Wii or PS3, or any pre-7th gen console, the 360 online is great, but compared to PC gaming it's overly restrictive, and about 10 years behind.

You won't find Braid anywhere else than XBLA. You'll only find World of Goo on PC and Wii. If you look for Wipeout HD anywhere else other than PSN, you'll be disappointed. Etc.[/QUOTE]

Quick point there, Braid is coming out for PC within the coming months, so if you're buying a 360 for Braid, I'd recommend you reconsider. (Though I doubt that would be the only reason you'd be considering purchasing a 360)

Re: Should I trade in my Wii and games for a Xbox 360 and games?

I suggest having both the 360 and the Wii, like I do. That way you have a bunch of current 3rd part games and good online, plus 1st party nintendo titles and virtual consol games. I like retro gaming alot, so having Genisis, NES, SNES, TG16, etc all in one place for $10 or less is worth putting up with the fact there there are only about 15 good games for the wii, but thats just me. The 360 allows me to keep up with current gaming.

Wow. 0-.0001 good games? Have you seen the 2009 lineup? And how can you say that the Mario and Zelda won't be good, if you haven't even seen them yet? And no, "I SAID MOST LIKELY LOLOL" ****. Look at Galaxy and Twilight. Nuff' said.

Re: Should I trade in my Wii and games for a Xbox 360 and games?

It depends how many games you have on the Wii, what type of games appeal to you, and whether or not there are any Wii games in the foreseeable future that you think are worth purchasing.

I have the following games on the Wii:

-The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
-Link's Crossbow Training
-Mario Party 8
-Super Mario Galaxy
-Mario Kart Wii
-Okami
-Wii Sports
-Wii Play

Virtual Console/WiiWare:

-LostWinds
-Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life as a King
-Donkey Kong Country 3

I'm happy with all of these games, so I would never trade my Wii for an Xbox 360, which does not really have games that actually appeal to me (with the exception of Banjo & Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts).

It really does depend on what you're into though, because the Wii and the Xbox 360 appeal to different audiences. Neither is necessarily better or worse than the other.

Yeah, most of the time people like us who go Wii60 or PSWii are the real winners. We cover the bases quite nicely.

Re: Should I trade in my Wii and games for a Xbox 360 and games?

The way I see it, 360 has the most good games, but the Wii has the fewest and greatest (Mario Galaxy, por ejemplo)

The 360 is good for the major hardcore gaming experience, while the Wii is good for when you have friends over, and has the occasional majorly hardcore game.

Keep both. Best of both worlds.

Wii60 > PS3

You know what? F*** it, you don't need a Wii, especially when making a statement like that. The only reason you'd be having a Wii would be to ***** at the small amount of games you've cared to assemble on the console. You'll do no good by keeping the console with that attitude towards the games (both on the console and coming along). Get a 360, really.

Considering the amount of people who do buy a Wii, you'll find that a good part are gamers still, even if they are in the minority. And the last statement is laughable.

The Wii is inferior online-wise, that is true, but don't go and say that no-one uses it.

I'd say sell it as long as you don't care about not being able to play the new Zelda when it comes out.
