Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life

...*hope there isn't already a thread about this >_>*

So, who has this game? I have it. I preordered it too and got a free stuffed cow

You can share your tips here or just talk about this game in general......but remember: NO SPAM!

At first I was slightly dissapointed by the sound, music, and graphics, and the controls were a little odd....but now I have forgotten about these because now I see what an excellent game this is! Currently I am engaged to Celia, the farm girl. I have 1 cow, 1 horse, and 2 chickens. I also have a dog and I am currently growing melons.

One tip I have is what crops sell for the most each season. They are:

Spring: Watermelon
Summer: Melon
Fall: Sweet Potato
Winter: Potato

Also, right now I am on Summer, day 8 or 9. (out of 10 days each season.) The first day of the upcoming spring I'll automaticlly get married to Ceila because we're engaged.

So...um...yeah. Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life. Discuss :p

Re: Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life

it came out in england yesterday and i bought it today along with friends of mineral town, also released here today.i`ve only played a bit of mineral town so far cause i`ve been on here and not gone on to play wonderful life yet,but if it`s anywhere near as good as mineral town it`ll be great. by the way does anyone know what the link up stuff is between the 2 games cause i also got a gba to gc link cable today.are the extras from linking the 2 games or just from plugging the gba into the gc and opening stuff up.and does it open things up in both games or just wonderful life

...the extras are from linking the two games....I think it only opens up stuff in A Wonderful Life. The stuff that it opens up is that you get new recipes from Ruby in AWL (she's in the Inner Inn.)

I think when you link up people move from the two town and there is a new girl to marry or something like that. I want that game but I have no money so this game will have to wait.

Re: Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life

I frequented Harvest Moon forums and followed the development of this game ever since it was announced to be made. I got it on the 19th and I haven't played any other game since.

Re: Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life

I got it earlier today and have been playing it since then. I think it is a really good game. Its very much improved over HM64 for various reasons. Graphics, time system, interactment with the characters, and much more.

And is it just me, or does Nami look like Kairi's identical twin sister?

Re: Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life

Well, I set up a thread like this, but I don't mind. Erm, I haven't got it yet, but I am getting it over Easter. It looks to be a great game! I can't wait!

BTW Frodo, my thread was more of a preview thread, so you've got nothing to worry about. Yet... BWAHAHAHAHAHA! *Cough* Now, where's my cash, so I can get the game?

Re: Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life

My dog really, really hates me, and I don't think I'll ever be able to get it to like me. I didn't feed him during the first 6 days because I didn't know how to.

Remember, feed your dogs!

Re: Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life

Ah, I want this game so much.
I had $40 saved up for it, then it dawned on me that my mothers birthday was in a few days...and one of my freinds....and another of my freinds, now Im broke, heh. Theyre more important to me than a game though. ^_^

Anyways, the game itself looks great, well worth the wait. Im most excited about the marriage thing I think, Ive only played the PS2 game HM: Save the Homeland, so I never experienced the marriage system. That and raising chickens...just because chickens are awesome.

Re: Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life

Heh, I pre-ordered this baby back in August (When they still had the US Release date around October 0_0)...

I got the game just before I left to Lake Tahoe, so I haven't gotten the chance to really sit down and play it.

Eventually I'm going to link up to FoMT and see what that does, but for the most part, just get the bearings of it first.

Re: Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life

Nerp... I love the HM series, I believe I have all but one of the games now...

I believe this game has a jump over all the others. THe graphics are PS2-esque, but it still feels nintendo-ish. The controls are ALOT better than in some of the other games, and there are some improved points. (Thank god we dont hevta spend 500G for grass seeds anymore. ) The music is a bit dissapointing, but some of the cut scenes, AKA the Mukumuku and when Muffy visists your farm, are hilarious.

Oh, and Frodo, my game currently kicks your games arse.

2 cows
1 horse
dog and cat
4 chickens
3 ducks
And I am married to Nami and have the kid.
Also have strawberries in the field, and at the end of yr 2.

Beat that.

Re: Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life

I love HM, but I ordered it, went through the short tutorial, ran round and turned it off, and its now gathering dust on the desk...

*is ashamed of self*

:[ I think it's got something to do with the fact that the GBA linkup doesn't work. I think my copy of Mineral Town isn't legal...
